I don't hate Kiara, but I certainly dislike her, much more than like. It's something to do with the already mentioned whinyness, brattyness and girly-girlness... Something in that combination just doesn't click for me. I may be a bit of hypocrite in a way here, because when you think of it, Simba was a rather unpleasent personality as a cub, but still I absolutely love him. But he never whined!

Wow, I just realized how pathetically little we see of her cubhood. Doesn't it jump to her teenage year right after she and Kovu are first found together and Zira's sung her lullaby? Anyway, I also agree that she's not strong as an independent character. She needs Kovu to make her interesting enough for me.

One thing I do like about her is that even though she was rather annoying and all that, she seemed to really think of life and how she wanted to have her own personality. "If there's so much I must be, can I still just be me, the way I am? Can I trust in my own heart, or am I just one part of some big plan?"

Kiara is sweet, innocent, and has a kind heart for others. ^^ That's why I like her!
