First of all I'll have to excuse for necroing this thread. I find it more convincing to bump this up rather than make a new up.

KiarasMate is stating that the might be a updated version there and it is true, the version he linking to is the updated version, John Burkitt, the author of the series, even says it in the beginning. The very original version seems to have disappeared from the internet. Another thing to note is that it seems that one story is missing, called "The Change".

The change
What if… Taka had strength to leave the path leading him to misery and pain, path that taken him away from his beloved, his friends, his life…
From http://snowlands.ru/en/library/chronicles/classic.htm

I may be mistaken but I think what he really means by the updated version is the new one called Chronicles of the Pride Lands II. The original book called "Ahadi's Legacy" has changed it's name to "Chronicles of the Pride Lands". The series though are called by the same name, ironically. This version was made in 2000 after release of Simba's Pride. It has grown from ~160 pp. to over 300 pp. It starts out with the birth of Ahadi and his cubhood, then we have the classic part with the birth of Taka and Mufasa after it a third is new material until you get to the half of what was the original book. Also many new scenes with Zira and Kovu appears. This newer version seems to exist only on Kublia's site.

The links are following:

Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four

Sadly to in the end of the fourth part the author tells us there would be a compiled work called "Uzuri's Legacy" but it seems that it didn't see light of the day. It is uncertain if it ever came out or if it even was completed.

Here on an old site you can read an interview with John Burkitt. One of the questions is following:
What projects have you both worked on since CotPL? (Apart from CotPL II) And was there life AFTER CotPL? Also, is there anything that you would like to plug, if so do it now!

OK, that gets very iffy. The Spotted Lion and Yaguara were life after COTPL for sure. But yes, Dave worked a bit with Mirco Zacher on Homecoming, then I helped Mirco finish it. The sequel to that story The Long Path was between Mirco and I. There is a possible story called "The Three Peaks," which is about Cougars. If Dave and I ever get around to writing it, that is. As it is, after Chronicles II is done and I figure out how to finish The Distant Shadows with Mirco (finale of the Homecoming trilogy), that's it for me with Lion King stories. I want to stop while I'm ahead. And there are stories in a totally different area that Dave and I would like to write--furry stuff and fantasy. I get into seriously heavy nature poetry and the like...maybe it's time I gave some of my fans something different to read--something fresh.
To note this interview was made before the CotPL II came out in 2000, so it is already, at least, ten years old. He says after finishing the trilogy of Homecoming series he will quit writing Lion King fanfics and move to new subjects. Contradictory he says he will finish CotPL II and then write The Distant Shadows, which actually seemed never to happen. Also he says nothing about "Uzuri's Legacy" which he mentions in the end of the fourth part but I guess he forgot about it and kept his "promise" and didn't write any more stories related to The Lion King.

For one thing for sure, he has written more, this time stories related to Chronicles of the Narnia by C.S. Lewis. If you are interested in them you should go to this site and choose "Main Features", you can also read a little bit about him in "About Us".

So that was a little information about him and the chronicles he created with his friend. Which sadly seems to be a little incomplete. Maybe some of the more hardcore fans should e-mail him and ask where's our story? And if someone is doing it, please be polite about it. It can be a bit uncomfortable to bring up a ten years old thing. About his friend David Morris, I haven't really found any information of him.

Additional information about John Burkitt and his works you can find on WikiFur:

Chronicles of the Pride Lands
Byron on Wells
John Burkitt

I think you should take the article about John with a grain of salt.

Personally I haven't read this story even though I have had it on my computer for the longest time. I don't find it comfortable to read many hundreds of pages on a computer screen and printing out to paper would still be a little bit uncomfortable. I have thought to printing out the stories and make hardback books of them by my self. Currently I'm still in the planning state since it seems a bit complicated even with online guides.

Humh.

I read part of the first books prologue.

Interesting. Even though they've apparently based it at least partly on The Six New Adventures books, I'm gonna give these a chance because unlike the SNA books', these authors truly seem talented. The writing is beautiful and rich and thus is promising an actual logic and imaginative story. At least I hope they've ditched the idiotic water buffalo horn causing the scar idea and made up something actually realistic and believable...

But however great these may be, it really doesn't make them in fact anything but great fanfiction. Quality doesn't change hard, solid facts. xD

Thanks for the links. I downloaded them and will start reading some day.
