Been meaning to make a topic for this guy... now that I finally have some free time, why not?
Name: Katili
Species: Lion
Gender: Male
Pride: The Matapeli (leader)
Personality: Ruthless and easily enticed by power in any and all forms. Katili, due to his old age, is far more docile than he once was, though he is still keen on his paws and possesses pertinent leadership skills that have allowed him to keep control of the Matapeli despite the fact that there are much younger, more able-bodied lions with in the pride. To most he appears resigned and calm at first, though he knows the fine skills of intimidation when the situation calls for them.
Description: Katili is an elderly lion with a faded brown mane, tan fur, and yellow and red eyes. His mane is matted and patchy, hair missing in some parts. His gaze is cold and could rarely be construed as possessing any sort of compassion.
Story: Katili is the leader of the Matapeli, an outcast pride that resides in a cave that rests between a split in a large rock. Zira is his half-sister, the two lions sharing the same father. Katili's ancestors, however, were banished from the Pridelands for quite some time, since long before Mufasa's time. They have resided within the cave ever since, and Katili rose to power through a coup when the pride's former leader suggested trying to make amends with the Pridelanders. He was killed immediately.
Katili met his sister many times over the seasons, especially once Zira was, too, banished from the Pridelands, though he never set foot in her territory or even near Pride Rock. Though he resents the Pridelanders and the conditions that they have been thrust into as a result, Katili has never decided to make a move on the Pridelands, as he has grown to live with the territory of the Matapeli and has a strong following, something he has always craved. That is, until Jasusi, Zira's right-paw lioness, visits him one evening with news: Zira is dead, and Jasusi is rallying a cause to dethrone Simba once and for all. The allure of power fresh in his mind and the possibility of a kingship on the horizon, Katili accepts...
Picture: None. I'm not an artist. If you'd like to draw Katili, though, be my guest!
