How did Scar die?

In the alternate ending, Scar defeated Simba and was consumed by the flames that engulfed Pride Rock ^^

That sounds interesting *opens Google*. He was quite obviously eaten by the Hyehnas though, they were angry that he tried to pin the blame on them.

I think he was eaten by the hyenas. He was clearly weakened after the battle with Simba, but it seems pretty clear to me that the Hyenas ate him.

The hyenas didn't gave him a chance to protec himself

It was sheer numbers that did him in though. There's no way he could have fended off so many hyenas. ^^

Yeah, they wanted to emphasize the shear number of hyenas that did him in. It must've been like a cow in a piranha tank. Poor Scar.
At least the hyenas finally got to eat a decent meal ^^

I believe that Scar died by the fire. And if you look closely here and here, there are a lot more flames down near the side of Pride rock. So he must have gotten eaten alive by the hyenas, or he got burned alive. I would think more towards the burned alive part, because after the hyenas attack him, the fire just swallows them all up. ^^ I don't think the hyenas would have enough time to rip Scar apart, with fire and flames that close. ^^

There wasn't too much burn-able material from what I can remember where Scar and the hyenas were. I think that it would have been the hyenas that got him in the end =3
