Do you "connect" to the music you listen to?

Do you "connect" to the music you listen to?

Postby HeartsForTheClueless » May 3rd, 2010, 3:55 pm

I always hear about people who say stuff like "This song is about how I feel" and such. I can't say I've felt that though.
I'm always listening to Christian music, depressing music, and love related songs. I'm not Christian, I'm as far from depressed as you can get (though my former psychiatrist labeled me as depressed) and I'm aromantic have no interest in romance.

I just like the sound of songs, the lyrics, and meanings.

Nope I just listen to things that sound good in my opinion. I guess some songs can describe how a person is feeling in terms of the lyrics and tempo etc though, just not me really.

Man, do I ever connect to music. Music is... literally my life... playing it, listening to it, and living it.

I have a deep memory-connection to music. Songs bring back vivid scenes from when I was listening to them, which is funky. I'll hear an Air song and suddenly I'm in my brother Grand Marquis on a gloomy day driving around looking for father's day gifts. I hear Te Amo by Makano and suddenly I'm back in Honduras, and I can see and smell and hear the kids running around. And I connect even more when I learn to play music--when you're playing along with the track, it's like you're one with it... you're truly in the zone. Everything else falls away.

I'm kind of a music nut, if you couldn't tell. xP

Well, I'm a music nut too. I can't stand to not listen to music of any sort for periods of time.

I still don't really connect with most songs in the most common sense.

Sometimes I'll listen to a song that actually just puts me in a depressing mood, or a song that makes me really happy.
I do connect music to my mood or my life, but honestly I listen to anything.
(DOES THIS MAKE SENSE)
