MLK Monthly Photography Awards - May 2010 Submissions

Indeed, MLK's first ever photo contest! From now on, this will be held on a monthly basis - the first three weeks of every month will be submission time, and the last week will be voting time. The winner(s) of each monthly contest will be announced in the next month's submission thread, and will receive a userbar like this:

Image

Each userbar will have the month of the contest won on it, as well as the name(s) of the winner(s). It will be animated ;)

Rules

One may win no more than three consecutive months' contests. If one wins three in a row, they must skip a month before entering the contest again.

Follow the theme! If a submission does not fit well into the theme, SnowyCheetah reserves the right to reject it.

Only one submission is allowed per user every month.

Image size is unlimited. However, do not embed the image into your post to submit it. Please attach it to the post, or post a link. Thumbnails will be used for all images in the voting topic, and each thumbnail will be a link to the full-size image, so no one needs to worry about that. All thumbnails will be the same size.

All images submitted must have been taken on or after the date of creation for the submission thread for the month's contest that the image will be submitted to.

ABSOLUTELY NO MANIPULATION other than corrections for color, saturation, contrast, etcetera. Converting images to grayscale, sepia, or other tones is acceptable, as well as cropping. NO use of decieving manipulations - for example, the use of Photoshop or other manipulation tools to place an object into the image that wasn't there when the image was taken. If a submission is found to be in violation of this rule it will be immediately ejected from the running and, if it won a month's contest, the prize revoked and given to the runner-up.

The photo must have been taken by the user submitting it! No exceptions. The user submitting a given image automatically assumes full responsibility for all copyright and/or trademark violations that may take place in relation to said image.

Do not violate MLK's Universal Site Rules. Period. Submissions found to be in violation of the USR will be immediately rejected/ejected.

No bribing others to vote for a specific contestant/image, threatening, unnecessary behind-the-scenes drama between users, or any of that nasty stuff.

If it sounds like cheating, discuss it with site staff or with me before doing it.

Be trustworthy. If contestants don't play by the rules, the contest won't be much fun for those who do.

Any and all questions about MLK's Monthly Photography Awards can be directed to me, SnowyCheetah. Just contact me in any of the ways listed on my profile.

Why couldent this have been started a month and a half ago? I could have had some great fresh pics then :( , although I think I have a pick available, just needs a slight color correction, and I'll upload it soon and link it to my photobucket account.

Way to exclude the poor members from the contest Snowy! lol, j/k j/k! :) Well, even though I won't be taking part in these, I wish everyone else the best of luck and may the best paparazzi win. ^^

We are the crowd
We're co-coming out
Got my flash on, it's true
Need that picture of you

It's so magical
We'd be so fantastical

Leather and jeans
Garage glamorous
Not sure what it means
But this photo of us

It don't have a price
Ready for those flashing lights
'Cause you know that, baby, I

I'm your biggest fan
I'll follow you until you love me
Papa-paparazzi

Baby, there's no other superstar
You know that I'll be
Papa-paparazzi

sorry for my bad singing,

and not all of us are paparazzi, and you don't even need a digital camera, all you need is a disposable one, or a phone, all your making me do now is carry around another camera, off to photoshoot again soon, so don't expect that picture I prommised before, sorry.

*feels as though his ears are bleeding*

lol, that is true, but I don't think I'd want to spend extra money just for something like this. :) Gotta budget afterall. :) Like I said though, good luck to everyone else. ^^
