[Open] Fatherly Love

This RP takes place immediately after Kovu is allowed into Simba's Pride.



It was a cold night, and Kovu could not sleep. A new place... a new pride... and an uncomfortable sleeping area assigned to him prevented him from dozing off. He decided to take a walk around the Pridelands to try to make himself tired, or maybe find another place to sleep.

Simba knew he and Kiara had feelings for each other, and severely disapproved. Noticing that Kovu had left the safety of Priderock, he took this opportunity to do what he felt he had to do to protect his daughter, and the future of the Pride. Once Kovu was far from Priderock, a smack to his head by Simba's paw knocked him out cold. Binding his paws and muzzle with vines and stashing the unconcious outlander in a hole in the ground, then placing a large rock over its opening, Simba felt he had successfully conquered this threat. It began to rain, erasing the pawprints and scufflemarks on the ground. Simba snuck back into Priderock, dried himself off, and went back to sleep next to Nala, who was snoring softly along with everyone else in the Pride.

Ok, I'll start

The next morning, Simba rose to his paws and yawned, stretching. He went outside to breathe the fresh morning air, and looked in the direction of the place he'd hid Kovu. He thought to himself that he'd saved the future of the Pridelands.

OOC: I guess I'll post next even though it'll be irrelevant.

Over in the far reaches of the Pridelands in a giant baobab tree there was someone stirring. A grey old mandrill was waking up due to his various knick-knacks clacking loudly in the wind. He sat there eating one of his melons, starting up at his doodads as they swayed in the wind. The wind picked up and started blowing around him and he put down his breakfast to study this odd wind more carefully. After a few minutes he walked over to one of the walls in the tree. He stared at a little drawing of the King Simba that he had done and stared at it curiously. Picking up his paints he started drawing another figure beside this, it was a dark brown lion. With his thumb he drew a small red streak across the brown lion's chest and stepped back to look at this. He wondered what exactly was going on. Picking up his staff he decided to head over to Priderock to investigate.

Zazu was the next to awaken, the coves of Pride Rock were rather dark with only the light from outside shining in. After a breath stretch, Zazu looked up to see Simba just outside the cove of Pride Rock still looking out into the distance. Zazu flapped his wings and became airborne, slowly gliding towards the king. It took a brief moment for his eyes to adjust to the new light, which was quite intense in comparisson to the dark coves of Pride Rock.
He came to a soft landing on Simba's left shoulder. As his bright blue wings folded back into their original position, he turned his head to face the direction that the king was still starring into.

"Good morning sir" Zazu spoke clearly yet slowly, having only just woken up.

Simba gasped as Zazu's feet gripped his shoulder, then relaxed as he realized it was just his old, trusty feathered friend. Good morning, Zazu. Simba said, nervously turning away from where he'd been looking. Trying to block thoughts of Kovu from his mind as he spoke. He knew that if he thought about it too much, something would slip out of his mouth. Is there any report yet? he said, walking down to the grass and beginning a patrol.

Zazu remained unaware of Simba's unusual slightly nervous reactions. Although he had noticed that Kovu was no longer in the spot of Pride Rock, where he had last seen him. Remembering the events that had happened yesterday, he thought it was best left unmentioned, for surely Simba was already aware of this.
Nothing yet siyah, would you like me to begin the rotuine check in with the locals? he said, now fully awake and awaiting his first order of biusiness.

Yes, Zazu, please do. Simba said, nervously padding along, being careful not to go near the spot where he'd hid Kovu. He scanned the horizon for signs of any of the Pride being awake other than him. He knew Kovu wouldn't escape on his own. The only threat was if someone found him - which was a slim possibility. No one ever went near where he'd hid the Outlander, and all traces of presence there had been erased by the rain. Simba didn't realize that one of Kovu's claws had ripped a cut into his back pawpad, which he never noticed because he was too busy thinking of other things.

it ha sheen a long walk from her home, and Jata had spent several days traveling, due to this she needed food and water, luckily she was near the pridelands, a large expanse of hunting grounds and water Perfect! she thought to herself, "For Once, A decent meal!" she spoke aloud accidentally.
Hopeing she hadn't disturbed anyone she carried on walking until she found a fully filled waterhole from the rains the night before, She sat down and drank, as her body warmed from the dawn sunlight. "Food and then I'm outa here" she said aloud again, her voice was her only company, and even that was dreary and boring.

Simba noticed this new arrival and approached with caution, keeping his guard up. Looking the lioness over very thoroughly before revealing his presence behind her, Simba spoke up, Hello, there. He did his best not to sound mean, but not to sound vulnerable either. He had to keep the proper balance of friendliness and toughness, to represent and protect his pride. Standing a short distance away from the lioness, claws ready to extend, he patiently awaited her reply.
