There have been a couple of lionesses who had trouble accepting him in the beginning. They all lived through Scar’s reign, and for a while they thought Kovu truly was a second Scar. At first, they gave him the silent treatment, refusing to speak to him, freezing him out. They would growl at him when they walked by, shooting him angry looks, stuff like that. Kovu himself tried not to let this get to him, and he never had a confrontation with any of them.
Slowly they started becoming more accepting of him, seeing him for the wonderful lion he really is.

Has Kovu ever really needed someone to comfort him (you I would expect) even after joining the Pride?

There have been times where he’s felt sad and uncertain, even scared. Some times he has needed comfort, which I usually have given him. However, sometimes he’s found comfort with his sister Vitani. Siblings share a special bond, and whenever Kovu has felt sad due to issues related to Zira and Nuka, he has sought comfort with Vitani. They share a past I’m not a part of.

Yes, sometimes I wish that. We only met a pawful of times as cubs, not enough to build a real strong friendship or be a proper part of eachothers lives.
Sometimes I do wish I could have been a part of Kovu’s past. It hurts me to see him plagued by it and not beeing able to comfort him because I have no comprehension of what he’s gone through.

Sometimes I’m gripped by such a sense of fear.. like a cold claw slicing through my body. I’m troubled by thoughts of losing my parents or Kovu, and sometimes I feel scared at the thought of assuming the throne, it’s such a huge responsibility.
Thankfully, Kovu is always there for me, and he can always comfort me and give me a sense of calm.
