This is the first character I've created with the intent of RPing with (my other character, Jasusi, is more for my fanfic than RPing, though I'd still consider RPing with her if the opportunity presents itself), so this should be interesting--rarely do I start characters from scratch like this.
Anyway.
Name: Kweli
Species: Lion
Gender: Male
Pride: Pride Lands
Personality: Kweli is a fun-loving lion all-around. Every day is a new opportunity and a new day to meet new people and make new friends. He can be very goofy and wise-cracking when the moment permits it (and sometimes even when it doesn't!), but he is also a very intelligent lion--though more book-smart than street-smart. Fighting has never been one of his stronger suits, though he is a fast runner--all the better to flee from danger rather than face it, of course! Kweli is also great at reading others... if another is not telling the truth, Kweli can often figure it out. Of course, even he gets fooled from time to time, but compared to others, he is superb at simply figuring out the truth in things, as well as seeing the good or the bad in individuals. However, when he feels that anyone is angry or upset with him, he can become very down and even a bit depressing--long story short, when someone is angry with him, it bothers him to the point where it's literally all he can think about, and it worries him, even if it's really not even that big a deal. But altogether, he is kind, loving, and affectionate. He knows who his true friends are, and once he has them in his life, he will never let go. He can also become slightly moody when reminded of his past, so he tends to leave them out of conversations. Often, Kweli will act as if nothing is wrong, even if deep down, something is troubling him. He doesn't like to be a bother to anyone or anything, so he sometimes suppresses his emotions if he feels it necessary--sometimes at his sanity's expense.
Description: Kweli is a full-grown lion, but is noticeably smaller than the average lion--he is more the size of a lioness than a lion. Kweli has bright amber eyes and a light brown mane. His fur is dark and golden, with a slightly lighter underbelly. (Note: This is subject to change; I may think of a better color matchup when I end up drawing him.)
Picture: Nothing yet, but I'm putting this on my list of things to draw. Hopefully it'll come out well; I've never attempted to draw a lion before. This will probably be practice for me. ^^ I will update the thread when a picture is available. (Note: Or, if anyone feels strongly about drawing Kweli instead, that is quite alright as well. If anyone's bored of course.)
Featured In: None to speak of... yet.
History: Kweli has been roaming the lands for a while on his own--as such, he has no true pride. He once was a part of a distant pride with his family, where he was a prince, though not the heir to the throne. Kweli had six older brothers, all who would become King of the lands before he would. So at a young age, Kweli was resigned to the fact that he would likely never become King, and thus began to live life the best way he knew how--one day at a time, showing kindness and lending an ear to all he could. Kweli, in fact, was often sought after as an adolescent by many of the younger lionesses for advice--as well as some of the younger lions. Life was good and Kweli was happily content--not to mention, he had found a lioness around his age, Bashasha, whom he had come to love deeply. But one day, as Kweli was about to tell Bashasha of his feelings for her, a pride of lions--rogues, from the looks of it--ambushed the pride, with the help of a pack of hyenas. Kweli's instinct told him to run--for he had never been a good fighter--so he fled the lands, leaving Bashasha, his family, and the rest of the pride behind (though he had pleaded for his love to follow him). Immediately he regretted his decision, but he was young and knew not the consequences of his actions, so on he ran, fleeing into the jungle. He returned the next day to find his pride slaughtered--many were dead, and still more were unaccounted for. Kweli found many of his friends and family--including his father--dead around the land. His mother, a few of his siblings, and Bashasha were nowhere to be found, though Kweli could not cover the entire grounds for fear of the attacking pride, which still meandered in the distance. At one point, he even saw a hyena carrying off the body of a lion, which caused him to figure that the bodies he had not found had already been carried off. Kweli was devastated, knowing that at the very least, he too should have died with his pride. He fled the land once more, vowing to leave his past behind them, no matter how painful it would be. From then on, Kweli has lived vivaciously, rarely living in one place long. He found the Pride Lands as an adolescent, befriending Kito, Ari and Hiro, who were around the same age as him.
That's that, then. Kinda went on creative overload with the history there. ^^ Might end up writing a fanfic with this guy eventually, though I'm mainly interested in RPing with him. I'll see if I can enter any RPs(or even make my own if none come up, though I doubt I'll do that since I figure I should stick to being a more minor presence in my first RP) someday... 'til then, if you've read this far, I apologize for the long post.
