Name: Imani
Name Meaning: "Faith"
Gender: Female
Species: Lion
Physical Description: Imani's fur is dark tan (almost brown) in color, with pale tan on her underside. Her "tail tuft" is a medium shade of brown, as are her eyes, and she has a slightly unruly bit of fur atop her head. She is also a tad longer and thinner than your average lioness, but not due to a lack of appetite! In fact, eating is one of Imani's favorite pastimes, along with exploring and listening to the legends and tales of her elders....
Personality: Because she is intelligent and curious, Imani loves seeking out adventure; however, her natural aversion to taking risks usually curbs her enthusiasm and keeps her out of dangerous situations... of course, usually is the word. Since she enjoys learning, she likes to sit and listen to the many legends of her pride, and attempts to apply the morals of said legends to her own life. Because of this, she has an awkward sort of wisdom which can make her popular with others one day and a social misfit the next. Her sometimes gluttonous appetite has also made her the butt of several running jokes. She prefers leading to following and working alone to working in a group. Generally, however, she is a capable and protective friend, even if she is a little socially inept.
History: Imani is a young adult who was born into the little known Grass Walls Pride, which is located in the Grass Walls territory, mentioned once by Rafiki in "A Tale of Two Brothers". Her mother met a rogue who wandered into said territory, and together they had Imani. However, their "love" didn't last, and Imani's father moved on (though she has seen him a few times over the years). Her mother is getting old now, and Imani is beginning to worry: She has always been ignored by most of her peers, and she fears being left friendless when her parents pass on.
Pride: The Grass Walls Pride is located on the other side of the Outlands, in an arid space of open plains. Gazelle and zebra are plentiful during the rainy season, but when water is scarce, times get hard. The pride is very close and inter-dependent, but due to its small size, grudges and bad feelings can linger on through the generations, negatively affecting many new relationships. Their king is also getting on in years, and the only other males in the pride are cubs; this has left the lionesses at a loss to know what will happen when their king passes away, and they fear being taken over by a tyrannical rogue.
