and she's right, SM, Kiara DOES mean "dark one" or "black one" in a certain language, I'm thinking Irish Gaelic. it's the more common meaning for Kiara, as I didn't see the Italian version meaning "light" when I was looking up name meaning for all the characters.
About the Kiara meaning dark thing, you might be confusing it with Ciara/Kira which means dark in Irish/Gealic :P

No. I'm not.
I'm actually pretty sure.

Besides all of the lions (not including Mufasa) names are Kiswahili. In theat language Kiara doesn't have a meaning(which could be refering to how her IQ is straight up 0) XD

It is an Irish/Gaelic name though and it DOES mean dark. It could of course have been taken to different countries and the name changed e.g. Christine is a French name, the Italien version is Christina and the Scandinavian version is Kirsten.

About Vitani's ear rims: I've been giving it thought and I think they're like Sarabi's! We never see Sarabi as a cub, but she's the only adult lioness I know of besides Vitani with ear rims. Maybe she also didn't have them as a cub.

Just some random speculation XD

I love Simba's Pride ^_^

Knowing that this is all hand drawn is enough to make me stop complaining, the only problem I have with the movie is that Simba looks like he's suffering from sleep deprevation throughout the whole movie. :(

SP does have some flaws but honestly, which movie doesn't? It's still way better than most sequels I've seen.

It's a beautiful story with great animation, how can we complain? It's one of the best sequels I've ever seen! :D
wtf? this isn't trolling guys. trolling is just repeatedly flaming for no reason and usually the remarks have no credibility. this IS a forum for TLK discussions, who says all of them should be looked at as making the movies seem epicly perfect. this is hardly different from the many threads of "Disney FAIL" and etc. that we already have from other members, usually with problems in TLK2:SP. if you don't agree, state your opinion and back off. if you don't want to point out the flaws the movie has, then don't reply. THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH ADMITTING THE FLAWS OF SOMETHING, EVEN IF YOU LIKE IT. IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU'RE A NEGATIVE PERSON, JUST THAT YOU'RE POINTING OUT PLACES WHERE THINGS COULD'VE BEEN BETTER. IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU DON'T LIKE THE MOVIE ANYWAYS. and besides, she mentioned clearly at the beginning of the thread that she thinks it is one of the better Disney sequels and a good movie despite. you guys need to learn how to tolerate things better, lol.

now, I disagree that Nuka looks like a Scar clone. his fur is an entirely different shade and color. it's dull gray-brown, not bright reddish brown. yes, he has that hooked nose and kinked nose bridge, but I believe that he takes after Zira (who's features were a little too Scar-like in my opinion). although, I do think they were inspired by a concept art of Scar when they were thinking about making him a rogue.

I also don't think Kiara's pelt is very bright, it's just hard to tell compared to other characters in TLK2 also having dulled colors rather than the usually brighter colors of the original team. but this I think might also be contributed to Sarafina and Sarabi have dulled pelts, so hereditary comes into play. what frustrates me is that they don't stay consistent enough with her facial structure in her cub shots. just look at the screengrabs of her in different scenes. it makes it seem like a rushed job where they really didn't care enough. as to the nose bridge, I just think that has to do with the particular angle. but her whole nose and muzzle isn't like either Simba or Nala really, it's almost identical to Sarafina's which is understandable and a nice touch. though most agree she would've looked better with either blue or green eyes. it would make sense due to Simba's side have a recessive eye color (since Scar and Ahadi have green eyes) as well as Nala's, increasing the chance of their cub having either blue or green eyes. it indeed looks nice with her pretty pelt.

now on to Simba and Nala's designs. NO, it's NOT to make them looked aged. keep in mind Disney said that Kiara's presentation is SUPPOSED to be the same one at the end of the movie. so Simba and Nala couldn't have aged years in a matter of minutes. plus, even if they had, it's not possible for Nala's chin to have changed to a completely different structure as well as size from young adulthood to a more mature adulthood. I think it was the style these particular animators used, but they REALLY shouldn't have messed with their designs. they were wonderful the way they were. and no, Disney shouldn't have tried to make Simba even more like Mufasa, they should've kept his unique aspects that are part of what makes a character. I also really hate how they screwed up their personalities. Nala was a much stronger character than just someone in the background who just smiles and lets Simba handle everything. and traumatic or not, Simba would have been over his father's death from years ago enough not to just go banishing half the pride. they went a bit ridiculous with his attitude, certainly not the Simba we knew, and didn't elaborate on the true reason (which certainly wasn't his father's death, which has nothing to do with this movie at all other than Simba trying to much to be like the "great" Mufasa).

and how many time have we all mentioned those pesky plotholes in TLK2? they left too many things out for certain things to make sense. I know there's a couple of books which add certain information, but since not everyone owns those books it should've been brought up in the movie.

as to Kovu's build, I think that's more or less because they made sure he was fed better and trained more, which would build up muscle, since he was their path to a new and better future. most of the Outlanders I believe are not lanky so much by hereditary as by poor diet in the Outlands. at the end of TLK2, afterall, the Outlanders seem fed up some at the pride-joining ceremony. Kovu's not that Scar-like either. his fur is a dull, ashy brown. the only similarity reallly is having a black, hooked nose.

and she's right, SM, Kiara DOES mean "dark one" or "black one" in a certain language, I'm thinking Irish Gaelic. it's the more common meaning for Kiara, as I didn't see the Italian version meaning "light" when I was looking up name meaning for all the characters.
