What Happened during Scar's reign?

It's questions like these that make me wish they would've made TLK a bit longer.


What happened durring his rule you asks.

Well...

I think after Scar took the throne he made Kula, his daughter, the princess and betrothed her to Chumvi(which explains why he's still alive even though he's a threat to the throne.) Even though Mheetu is Scar's firstborn son. Chumvi mocks Mheetu about this and Kula lets him, not inclined to defend her younger brother. The only one who can actuall tolerate Mheetu is Tama and the two become friends. They sneak off to the elephant graveyards to explore and they find some hyenas are planning to rebel against Scar. Mheetu tells Scar abour this and the rebels are killed. Afterwards Mheetu request to be the heir as when the rebels were being destroyed they had claimed the lives of Kula's mother(Inalu) and Chumvi's mother(Saka) they both lose the will to rule. Scar refuses and ends up hurting Mheetu when his son refuses to take no as an answer. Mheetu ends up with 3 Scar's across one of his eyes but until Scar can do further damage the lionesses are ready to protect him.
The death of his queen and the distrust of the lionesses(and even some of the hyenas) have left him without a queen and his daughter's deminishing desire to become queen has left him heirless. He decides to visit an old friend who helped him murder Mufasa's firstborn son, Mosi(who is mine), Amri(who is also mine) but when he get's there he finds Amri has just passed on. The leadership passes on to his daughter, Zira. Onces Scar's sees this his original plan, which was to offer Amri a place beside him to help him rule and keep order with the lionesses and hyenas. Instead he offers Zira the chance to come to the pridelands and live there if she promises eternal loyalty and having no previous leadership skills, Zira accepts. Months pass and during these months Zira and Scar have produced Nuka.

It's pretty clear to me about what happened during Scar's reign. The lands were overhunted, Scar abused his power and in turn, caused both lions and hyenas to suffer and that's all we pretty much need to know, as far as the movie plot itself goes. As for Fan Theories, I'll stick to Chronicles Of The Pride Lands for that, since I think that theory was well thought out and magnificently written. ^^

I tend to be of the opinion that there wasn't really much to his reign. Scar remained King all throughout, the lands got overhunted and a drought fell upon 'em. Probably had some friendly "relations" with some of the lionesses, if I had to guess. Rafiki probably stuck to staying in his baobab tree all day and all night... either kept there or by his own choosing.

...yeah, boring, but I leave the more outlandish fan theories to the fanfic board.

But The chronicles of the pridelands is not official. You can stick with it but with all it's OC characters It's nothing short of a fan-fiction.

As for what happened I'm actually making a story from scratch with facts here and there.

I believe a lot of events happened during Scar's reign. Here are some of the major events I believe that occurred.

1. Scar became the king after the funeral. Scar mated with Sarafina, but he didn't want her to have a cub. She gives birth to Mheetu, but then Scar wants to kill him. Sarafina begs him to let her son live, and Scar makes a deal with her: He won't kill Mheetu, as long as he can marry Nala when she's older.

2. Scar brought the Outsiders Mufasa banished back to Pride Rock.

4. The Pride Lands became dry.

5. Scar spared the lives of Tojo, Tama, Chumvi and Kula. Tojo and Chumvi would have to leave the Pride Lands when they're young adults. Scar forbid Malka from visiting the Pride Lands.

6. Zazu was put in the bone cage, because he was in the stampede and Scar was afraid that Zazu will realize that Scar killed Mufasa (and supposedly Simba).

7. Zira gave birth to Nuka, but Scar did not accept him as his heir, firstly because Nuka was not his son and secondly, Nuka seemed to have lower IQ than other lion cubs.

8. Scar asked Sarabi, his crush when he was a teen, to become his queen. Sarabi refused.

7. Chumvi and Tojo left the Pride Lands, as they're young adults now.

8. Zira gave birth to Vitani and Kovu. Vitani was Scar's daughter, but Kovu wasn't. Zira lied and told Scar that both cubs are his offspring, so Scar named Kovu after him and named Vitani 'Shetani' (demon of war). Scar chose Kovu to be his heir, and starts spending more time with him and Vitani, leaving Nuka out.

9. Scar starts becoming more insane than he ever was. Even after Mufasa's death, was still jealous of Mufasa and he claimed to have seen him everywhere. He finally told Sarafina that it's time for Nala to marry him, so he called her to come to his den. Scar proposed to her and attempted to mate with her, but Nala refuses and runs outside.

10. The pride prepared a ceremony because Nala was gonna leave to go find help. Rafiki attended the ceremony as well. Nala left the Pride Lands.

11. A really furious Scar came to Sarafina and told her that Nala refused to marry him. Sarafina explains that it was too late and that Nala ran away, so Scar attempts to killed Mheetu. Sarafina saved her son by sacrificing herself. Mheetu ran away from the Pride Lands.

12. The hyenas complained to Scar that there's no food or water and that the hunting party doesn't do its job. Scar told Zira and the other Outsiders to go hunting instead of Sarabi and the rest of the pride. Zira took Nuka, Kovu and Vitani with her as well. Scar called Sarabi to complain about them not hunting anymore. Sarabi explained to Scar that there's nothing left and that they should immigrate, but Scar refused. Sarabi argues with him, resulting in Scar hitting her. But Simba suddenly appeared and confronts Scar. Scar is murdered by his hungry hyena henchmen, and Simba became the king. After he roared from Pride Rock, the hunting party Scar sent came back. Zira believed that Simba killed Scar, and so did the rest of the Outsiders. Simba exiled the Outsiders because they were royal to Scar. Scar's reign ended and Simba's reign began.

Hmm...well it's beyond dispute that when Scar became King of the Pridelands, the land under his control became over hunted and a drought resulted. We can see from observation that Scar probably allowed the hyenas to have free run with the lands and as a result the herds had to migrate to fertile lands without being over hunted, which being over hunted could have been a possibilty due to the skeletons around the pridelands. We know from the film that Sarabi was still the leader of the hunting party and that if we look to the story board, that the Pridelands under his rule was equal to that of a Nazi camp. We know that Nala left for help to rid the Pridelands of it's ruthless ruler, so maybe if you take TLKOB's scenario we could say that Scar tried to make Nala his queen but she hit him. I think there is a fanfiction out there that mentions that it's a crime to spill royal blood(?). So to avoid the death penalty Nala had to leave.

Now if we take in consideration of Zira and her outlander followers...maybe we could further say that there were lionesses in the pride that supported Scar and his rule. After all we know this from SP. Now I feel that after Zira had Nuka, Scar felt that Nuka was weak so Zira felt as though she had failed Scar. Now we can either look it in many ways. Nuka has said that ''Scar wasn't even his father, he just took him in and...'' so where did Kovu (and Vitani who seem to be the same age) come from?

Well if we delve into the sub-canon universe we could say that Zira mated with Chumvi and produced Kovu and Vitani....or we could even say that Zira (after all she IS crazy to do anything to become in Scar's favor) could have stolen Tama and Chumvi's cubs (Kovu and Vitani) to raise as her own....

Well that's about it really.

well, officially, Scar allowed the hyenas to hunt for sport as well as food which was previously outlawed by Ahadi (and possibly why either Ahadi or Mufasa later banished them). a drought also struck, forcing many of the herds to move on. Nala tried to make Scar understand that if he would step up and take control of the situation, they could say the land from becoming a permanent wasteland, but he hardly listened and instead was focused more on making her his queen. she had promised as a cub to one day put a stop to Scar, and so decided they would need help to solve this. if they took out the hyenas, they'd still have their schitzo king and his crazed fan girl, Zira, to deal with (and the rest of the Outlanders if they were really loyal to Scar, which I personally doubt). if they took out Scar, they'd have the hyenas and Zira to deal with still. and that's pretty much where the movie picks up.

I've of course have all sorts of extra unofficial stuff added in amongst this. like Mheetu and Mega leaving to stay with another pride to avoid being killed, Tama being the sunny lioness helping to get the pride through their ordeal, Tojo and Chumvi being banished upon adolescence, Scar making a deal to let the Outlanders return since one of their lionesses (Zira) is pregnant and he needs an heir to replace his daughter, etc. but I'm not going to go too in-depth with it since I am turning all my theories into a fan-fic aimed at filling in the blanks from the movies and books, with one version also including my unnessecary fan-characters to this like Kyra and Asadi.

This is true, but the same would go for your story as well. Anything that isn't officially written by Disney itself, whether you claim to add in (supposed) facts or not, will always be considered just a Fan Fic as well, so either way you look at it, we're both just basing our opinions off of Fan Theories in the end.

isn't absolubly clear, during Scar's reing, he was just abusing the power he had, making the lioness overhunt and having both lion and hyenas witout no food or water, he was just nasty
