Simba`s Talk With Kiara

Well, we don’t know if Sarabi scolded/punished cub Simba further when he returned home. Personally, I think she was cross because he lied to her.
I feel completly confident that Nala didn’t say anything to Kiara about her adventure, it becomes pretty clear from their walk home that she’s just happy to have Kiara home, and sees no reason to scold, hehe.

I personally think that Simba was awfully lax about it compared to some parents, and how they can act. KM is right, though - Most father/daughter relationships are different than father/son ones, be it in good or bad ways. It is clear that both Mufasa and Simba were worried about their cubs in retrospective, though. The main difference is how they dealt with it. At times, yes, Simba does seem overprotective, but if the fan theories are right, he has every reason to be. Besides, parental instinct would make one wish to protect their young, from what I gather.

To me, it all boils down to select personalities and how they were raised as to their reactions and interactions. Each parent and/or child deals with things differently.

In my opinion this just shows how great a father Mufasa truly was, and how Simba's still struggling to live up to his father's name, which is consistent with the rest of the plot of TLKSP. When Mufasa had his talk about danger and responsibility, Simba held him in high enough respect, love, and awe, to be genuinely ashamed of himself, and Mufasa realized that when Simba started to cry, and he knew that Simba had learned his lesson.

In Simba's Pride on the other hand, Kiara doesn't consider Simba's rules and talk important because first of all, she's heard it all before and it's turned into white noise to her: She can't learn anything more from the same lectures, and tunes it out. Simba doesn't really know how to explain things to her, so he tells her in "We Are One" basically to hang in there, grow up, learn, and that he'll be with her to help her. It's a great message, and I love "We Are One" but Mufasa got his point across, while Simba couldn't at that stage in Kiara's life.

It make me think that Simba didn't wanted to be more like Mufasa, try to be very strict with Kiara

It seems Simba's attitude with Kiara is inconsistent throughout the movie. He didn't get upset with her when she ventured off, but boy did he blow up later in the film...
