The Transcendent Trilogy

The Transcendent Trilogy

Well, this trilogy is something that I been thinking on and off about for over three years now lol. When I began to brainstorm about this early 2007, my question was "What can I do to make this any good?"; as time went on though, my question became "What can I do to make it different?". So, I realized that, being a fantasy nut, I would incorporate mystical beings and powers into my story; thus The Transcendent Trilogy was born. Though I'm largely aiming for an epic feel, I want to write it as "PG"-rated. However, that doesn't take away the fact that there will be action and a mature, thought-provoking plot.

The lead character will be the son of Kovu and Kiara, Cainda. Like any hero, he's smart and noble. What sets him apart from other OCs, however, is what he's capable of. But, in order to tell more about him, I must explain about an elemental force known as the Power:

1. Every 10-15th generations, a descendant from a select bloodline inherits almost omnipotent powers based on one of the elements (Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Ice, Thunder, Darkness, and Light), each one with distinct strengths and weaknesses. The ones who obtain/wield the Power are known as "Transcendents"; hence the trilogy's title.

2. The Power can be used for multiple things, such as offensive/defense attacks, creating protective armor, a limited extent of telepathy, and (depending on the Transcendent) flight. However, They all have a Spirit Form to use in battle whenever needed and whom also exist in the Transcendents' subconsciousness.

3. Unless beheaded by another Transcendent, poisoned, or are felled by natural causes, Transcendents are virtually immortal.

4. Transcendents must never kill unless left with absolutely no other alternative. They cannot use their powers out of selfishness or revenge. They must never recklessly escalate battles. And, above all, they must never use their powers to raise the dead, as it disrupts the Circle Of Life.

What makes Cainda particularly special is that his Spirit Form is the legendary Phoenix Warrior (and thus, he uses the Fire element). Due to the levels of his potential power, the Rouges (Transcendents who completely disregard the laws) want to use him as a weapon, as does a secret society that will become a more prominent force as the stories progress. It will also deal with themes as destiny, perspectives, and even sacrifice.

The story titles are (as of April 3rd, 2010):

1. The Phoenix King

2. The Raven's Covenant

3. Fall Of The Phoenix

So yeah, I've got the stories planned out for the most part, but I'd be more then happy to answer any questions pertaining to this potential series. :)
Thanks, Simbadacub!
