The movie was meant to be funny.
for me, tlk 1.5 was an epic fail. I expected way more of it, after seeing tlk and sp.
and why were T&P the main characters? In the other parts they were the "comic" reliefs.
(not my sense of comic, but wth)
The only things that were original was the "digga tunna" song, with the meerkat characters, and that african-like song. For the rest, it was just copy 'n paste and some retarded LOL edited.
For me, it was like they were making fun of the first movie. FAIL.
I think it WAS a parody of the first movie. Hence why there's more humor than logic.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^THIS.

Srsly, it's just a lighthearted spoof of the movie and nothing more.

Also, everysingle one of TLK films is based on a shakespeare play:

Original: Hamlet
Simba's pride: Romeo and Juliet
1 1/2: Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead

So, it's natural for this to have been made; maybe not as a comedy but I at least saw it coming.

That's the thing about funny movies; they have to be funny.

Now, I like Timon and Pumbaa (who doesn't?), but they're meant to be supporting characters that spout one-liners. And that was the biggest thing that bit 1 1/2 AND the TV show on the butt; the producers made it revolve around these side-characters. And comic relief guys can only be any funny for so long. The Lion King 1 1/2 was a good idea on paper, but the execution drug it out back, especially towards the ending where it seemed like the producers simply gave up and decided to pull ideas out of a hat. To be fair though, there were a couple laughs here and there, and for a Disneyquel, the animation was quite good; I'll go has far to say it was almost on-par with the original.
Thanks, Simbadacub!

I think you have to be careful when you judge TLK. I for one don't judge it as a TLK movie. I judge it as a lighthearted spoof of one. Now I agree with a lot of people, especially weredoomed, in that I didn't think it was honestly very funny. You can't take comic relief characters and try to make them main characters---it just doesn't work. In fact, just about the only part of the movie I enjoyed was watching teen Simba. That was a nice treat. But other than that, it really has little for hardcore TLK fans like us to really latch onto unless you're a diehard Timon/Pumba fan.

"Dude, almost the entire movie (tlk3) was CGI, I didn't like that they did CGI for the CYFTLT scene thingy in TLK3... It made Simba look WAY fat, and Nala, she didn't look like Nala to me. And the fact that nothing matched up right, the times were wrong. and all that... it was dumb, like How did Timon & Pumbaa get from the Gorge right before Simba, and then claim it as theirs? If Rafiki and Timon had met before (the scene were Rafiki told Timon to "look beyond what you see," then why didn't Timon recognize him when Timon, Pumbaa, and Nala were talking and he dropped in? How did the 3 hyenas get injured when they fell like 2 feet? There are soo many flaws in this movie, I don't think it deserves to have the title of "The Lion King 3" it deserves to be called, "The worst lion-based movie in the history of the universe" or as Moka said "The Socially Deranged Meerkat and Smelly Insectivore Warthog King" ... I obviously hated this movie, and therefore, will dog the crap out of it, in any way I can. I should probably just dog the entire series since it has so many flaws anyways..."

No, the entire movie is art animated. Besides, if it did have CGI in the film, it would look like toy story would it? But the wildebeest herd are CGI in the scene of the wildebeest stampede like in the first movie.
