Nicki looked to Kayla with a hint of uncertainty. “How much time.. would you say... someone like yourself or my dad.. have left in the circle of life?”

"Hard to say, nobody ever really knows when their time is up."

[Stormy]

Nicki felt her throat slightly tighten at Kayla’s response as it didn’t quite help her nerves on the topic. “Will you guys still be there when I grow up?” She asked. “You watched Sadie.. but that was a long, long time ago.”

"It wasn't that long ago," Kayla laughed. "But I sure hope I live long enough to see both of you two grow up."

[Stormy]

“Well, how old is Sadie? 20 something? That’s 20 something years ago.”

"Yet it only feels like yesterday." Replied Kayla.

Nicki just lays there in her own thoughts.

“Your challenge will be seeing how many generations you can make it through.” Kaylee joked.

Just at that moment, Connor came stumbling on his tiny paws tripping over himself numerous times. “What about him? Are you gonna make it to see him become king?” Kaylee laughed.
