[Stormy]

“Yeah, thanks, I definitely didn’t notice.” She said with an eye roll.

They arrived inside the cave, not expecting their mother to be waiting there. “And where were you two out there alone?”

[TheLastLion]

"They were playing in the snow." Sadie added as she appeared.

[Stormy]

Nicki felt a wave of relief as Sadie came in. Saige raised an eyebrow of suspicion, even towards Sadie.

[TheLastLion]

"Don't worry, I went over it with Jay... though I admit I shouldn't have assumed he would inform you as well. That's on me." Sadie said sounding embarrassed. "Won't happen again, Saig- I mean, Ms. Saige." She blushed, calling Saige by the name she had called her by as a child.

[Stormy]

The two cubs gave innocent smiles toward their mother before she walks away. They both gave a sigh of relief before looking to Sadie.

[TheLastLion]

As soon as Saige was out of earshot, Sadie turned to both Kaylee and Nicki, "I think she bought it, but I don't want to make a habit of lying to your mother. Take it from me: it never ends well."

[Stormy]

“You just better hope she doesn’t ask Jay.” Kaylee responds.

[TheLastLion]

"That part wasn't a lie." Sadie replied.

[Stormy]

“Oh?” Nicki replied. “What exactly did you tell him?”

[TheLastLion]

"That you two went to play in the snow and that I met a young Snow Leopard who wanted to join the pride." Sadie explained. "And that's also what I told Saige."
