Kayla was left thunderstruck by the revelation, to put it mildly. She struggled to fight against the tears overflowing from her eyes. Suddenly, things about Conal that confounded Kayla now made perfect sense. His abrasive personality, his distrust of outsiders, his overprotective nature of Sadie, all because of personal tragedies that he suffered.

[Stormy]

“So uh..” Jay tried continuing but didn’t know what else to say after. “That’s that. Sorry for shoving that into your head, but I figured you should know by now. Hell, that even paranoid me with Saige. I rarely ever left her during that time we were waiting for Kaylee and N’kalla.”

[TheLastLion]

"Well, that's... that's a lot to think about...."

[Stormy]

"Yeah, that's why I try not to be too hard on him all the time, but sometimes he makes it.. difficult. Others suffer the consequences of this.. Sadie in this case."

[TheLastLion]

"I just wish he'd be a bit more open to us."

[Stormy]

“Yeah well, we’ve tried that before a long time ago and it didn’t work so I’m not even gonna bother.”

Sadie suddenly stumbled upon the two talking, she was around previously since she did end up getting her water. She looks at them confused. “What are you guys doing here? Were... were you watching me?”

[TheLastLion]

"Watching you? Like spying on you? No."

[Stormy]

“Then.. why are you here?” Sadie questions. “You only came when I went to get water. Look, just because Flash isn’t around doesn’t mean I can’t fend for myself. I’m perfectly capable when I am alone. You don’t need to be around.”

“Uhm..” Jay looks at Kayla, not sure what to say.

[TheLastLion]

"Sadie. We were just talking. Nothing more than a coincidence."

[Stormy]

Sadie looks at the two and squints her eyes at them for a few moments. “Oh yeah? And what exactly were you talking about? Surely you wouldn’t mind telling me if you were just doing that.”

Jay’s eyes widen slightly, as he didn’t want what he had just told Kayla to go anywhere else but to her.
