“Exactly. This is Conal! The only time he’d go alone is if he was running away from something again.” Jay replies clearly frustrated about the idea.
”Conal’s an idiot, but not that much of an idiot to go track down a group of lions ALONE. He didn’t even want to take on one when he was with us! He did not go to track those lions, Kayla. I’m not going to believe that. Either he ran off again or something else. And I don’t have time to go get him every time he decides he doesn’t want to be here.” Jay looks down. “I can’t do that.” Jay was slowly making himself believe that Conal had decided to leave again, but not fully.

"Ugh!" Kayla groans in exasperation. "Come on, we have to find him!"

[Stormy]

Jay shakes his head. “I can’t. I can’t go through that again. Especially not now.” Jay was beginning to let his emotion get the best of him. “If he doesn’t want to be here with us, then so be it.”

"I... I understand." "I'll look for him."

[Stormy]

“I don’t see why..” Jay says lightly to Kayla.

"Because he's our friend."

[Stormy]

“The “friend” that can’t manage to stay with us for even a little while.” Jay begins to walk back.

[TheLastLion]

"Jay, you know you don't mean that."

[Stormy]

Jay stops - “No, I do. As much as I possibly can. I’ve lost him, he’s gone. He’s not the Conal I knew.” There’s a crack in Jay’s voice. “Good luck.” Jay continues off.

Kayla bows her head in sadness.
