Agreeing with the majority, yes, it's stupid. I don't have a phone nor am I old enough to drive yet, but I don't plan on doing it.

It's stupid. Utterly stupid.
Anyone who does it should be put in jail and not let go for a loooong time.

I know of someone who's horse was killed because someone was on their phone and not looking where they were going. I've also had my fair share of near misses, because people are too stupid to wait untill they're home.

I can't even express how stupid it is to text and drive.

and even talking on the cell phone and be very dangerous. that's how my uncle's 4-month-old grand-daughter was killed. some guy was on his cell phone, not paying attention, crossed the median, and plowed their car. the parents were injured but the baby was killed by the impact.
