It's kind of hard for members to care about this place when the mods and admin clearly don't.

You're great, and this isn't aimed at you or anyone, but that's a cop out, I think. Objectively, I don't know the exact power structure of MLK, but I'd bet that giving you or any other mod ACP access, etc wouldn't empower you any more than you currently are (or any other established member). As far as new member recruitment or drumming up activity, it's about soft power, presence, and effort more than anything else in my experience. MLK was blessed with great activity and a great community for as long as I can remember--so much so that the staff never had to shoulder what has always been the default responsibility at 90% of online forums: finding new members and actively fostering activity on the board (although perhaps staff did work on this and I just never saw it).

Not that anyone has an obligation to take on that role--or do anything. It's a free forum. Moka has devoted an extraordinary amount to this place and asking him or anyone else to take on stewardship in perpetuity is a tall, largely thankless order.

My two cents, at least. And yeah, this place is somehow still great for talkin' politics.

It annoys me when Christians get easily offended. Not directed at anyone on here obvs, but there's a Christian Facebook page that got so offended over Facebook including a pride react, they started banning people who pride their posts.

Like, when people complain about progressives getting offended, at least we get offended over stuff that is relatively offensive, such as a joke that puts down women. The hypersensitivity to stuff outside their beliefs (though acceptance of queer people shouldn't be outside of a true Christian's beliefs imo, look no further than the man our religion is named after) just makes Christians look weak and furthers our bad rap.

Yes, I said our, because I'm a Christian. But geez, a lot of us really need to grow some backbone. It goes without saying that the majority of Christians aren't like this, but still.

Today is the end of my sophomore year and wow, that SUCKED balls. Is it sad that I can't remember the last time I've even showered or changed my clothes? Probably been near a week now. This asinine housing situation makes it hard to focus on anything, let alone take care of myself...
