I've been thinking about trying to write some fanfiction again recently. I really need to get back into the swing of writing if I want to ever make progress on my projects.

^ If my folks and I end up staying home today, I think I'll start writing something tonight, actually. I've tried to write my own works a few times recently, but I've had a lot of difficulty, so I'm hoping if I can get out some fanworks of even decent quality that in a few months or so I'll be ready to actually get my own stuff off the ground again.

^My issue is that I've been visualising the thing I'm working on in my head (as I do with virtually all my ideas), so that when I eventually get to sit down and physically write, I'm either exhausted or dissatisfied with the words not matching up to the image in my head. I have done a hell of a lot of worldbuilding, etc. though so it's not as if I've tecnically done nothing .

I had a stab at OF a few years back but it was too influenced by others' work for my liking.

I get that. It's very frustrating when you can't recreate the vision in your mind.
My biggest problem is that I too have been worldbuilding and I have a lot of elements I want to work in, but I can't settle on a plot or a main protagonist, not after realizing that my first draft from 7 years ago isn't the story I want to tell, anyway.

Wow. I am not used to being called an author, but people seriously like my stories! This is completely new, I never imagined people could enjoy my writing... maybe I should ponder becoming a serious author?
