New episode - "The Trail to Udugu"

Well our prediction was correct insofar as this episode's plot. From the The Lion Guard Facebook fan page:

"Simba is left in charge of the Guard when Nala takes Kion and Kiara on a journey."

So, another update; two things, actually.

Firstly, a slightly more detailed synopsis has been released (according the Facebook fan page):

"While Nala takes Kion and Kiara on a trip to teach them the importance of working together, Simba is left in charge of the Lion Guard."

Of course, we already more or less knew this was going to be the thrust of the episode, but I wonder what, if anything, happened to have Nala be the one to impart this lesson on her cubs. Perhaps she caught wind of the attempted kidnapping incident? I've been wondering if they'll ever let us see the parents' reactions to Kion's antics at any point throughout the series. On that same note, I'm sure Simba leading the guard for a bit will be more of the comedic relief side of the episode, but I'm wondering if anything plot-related comes out of this. I'm excited; so much character development potential.

Second, the episode airing date has apparently been moved up about a week to January 7, which is just fine with me!

Well, that's true! There's potential for character developement . I hope this episode will affect the continuity too. Not in a drastic way I think but it's an interesting premise. I hope Simba won't be a complete incompetent only for comedy purpose.
I suspect that Nala is taking Kiara and Kion to visit The Pride where her Father or Sarafina was originally from. Think about it, what other trip could be so important that it was justifiable for Kion to take some time off from leading The Lion Guard?
Looks like my guess was once again wrong. However this sounds like it could be a great episode. I think Simba leading The Lion Guard could have more plot value than just comic relief, I know Simba has shown his trust in The Lion Guard by assigning them important tasks. (Such as in The Lost Gorillas), but due to the fact that Simba originally reprimanded Kion for the team he chose, I wonder if any of The Lion Guard is still somewhat hurt by Simba's initial rejection of them. I could see Fuli wanting to take this chance to show Simba The Lion Guard's worth. I could also see Simba trying to hold The Lion Guard back in favor of handling a situation on his own. or it is possible that they could get into a situation that would usually be solved by The Roar. Simba would then have to solve said problem without The Roar. At the end of the episode I suspect that Simba and The Lion Guard will have an even greater respect for one another.

it seems the focus will be on simba leading the guard and not on the journey of kiara and kion with nala

Huh. A simba focused ep is a nice thing I think. The last one was bunga and the king and I liked that ep.

If the focus of the show is on Simba leading The Guard, I am forced to wonder how important what Nala is trying to teach Kiara and Kion actually is. (At least as far as importance to the series goes). As for the prospect of another Simba focused episode, I'm with Groot. Awesome.

I want to see Nala taking your cubs to a REALLY unknown place.
If they go out of the Pridelands (and walk a few miles East), maybe they will see humans stuff, like a railroad. Would be so epic!
