Sounds like something I'd write, lmao.

Like honestly, most kids my age are still in high school and I'm two states away from my family with just my job and my scholarships paying rent and paying my way through my education. So treat me with some respect. JFC.

Wait, someone is treating you like a child? Does this person even know you?

Yeah, I dunno, it was one of my flatmates actually. He gets kind of snappy about us talking in the same room even though it's the living room and tbqh I'm pretty understanding of other people when they wanna chat and I'm trying to work on things, since I know people want to have fun sometimes and I'm not the only person who lives here. Like people are gonna have conversations in the living room and stuff, chill. Put on some music if it's that bothersome. :/

I was probably reading too deeply into it but for some reason he comes off as mildly condescending sometimes, which I don't appreciate. I doubt he means it that way but every now and then it really gets on my nerves, I guess. We all study and have important things to do, too, but we don't make a big deal out of it.

He's honestly rarely around here and we generally get along fine but I take things like that pretty personally. I know that I joke around a lot and like to drink and I get kind of rowdy sometimes, and that's just kind of how my personality is, but that doesn't mean I'm immature or that I'm not capable of being responsible. So I get defensive when I feel like that's the implication. Aha.

Okay, so this story is a little over 10 pages and the limit is 7.

Well. Crap.

As someone who used to live in a living room, I get how annoying stuff like that can be, but like you said, it's going to happen, and you are definitely capable of being responsible. Also I'm pretty sure there's a better way to deal with being frustrated than to get condescing. It doesn't really help anything, and is more likely to breed animosity. People aren't perfect though, and they get that way often, which is pretty annoying.
