Yep. And those of us who can't leave are stuck here.

Don't you guys have right of residency in Canada? Or am I imagining that?
I might be able to get citizenship more easily than others
maybe, as my mom's side of the family is originally Canadian and my mom was born there and was a citizen. I would have to look into it.
However, I can't really leave because I've worked so hard and done so much to get into this school and I still have about two and a half years to go (six and a half if I do vet school). I'm not about to give that up so I basically have no choice but to ride this out.

I do agree with Squeely though. The Republicans having the presidency and a majority is concerning but it's worth noting that not all the Congressmen support Trump. A few rogue Republicans could easily get in the way of things. It's not like a parliamentary system where the party members basically always vote as a block and not doing so is a no-confidence vote. We have party whips, but they're not effective 100% of the time.
Actually in our system it's really hard for the President and Congress to get along since they are kind of at odds with each other. And honestly - if people are dissatisfied enough during the midterms for there to be a Democratic majority in either chamber of Congress... yeah nothing is getting through. And without Congress' active cooperation there's really little he can actually legally do about it.
