New episode 'Lions of the outlands'?

SP was deliberately animated darker this is confirmed in a making of documentary they say the movie had a darker animation to represent a darker side of the kingdom to show that Pride Rock was out of balance this is why you never see a bright shot of Pride Rock until the ending. The darker animation was actually symbolic. The less detailed designs was a result of the decreased budget not the darker shading. What did we see of the pride lands in the original movie I feel you're overreacting in this regard the outlands is an entire kingdom of course it's going to have different areas, the pride lands are an entire kingdom that we have not seen so it's going to look different since they're showing us the parts we haven't seen.

The writing is my issue with the show as far as preschool shows go yeah it definitely is ahead of the curve there but I still find the show lacking any permanent character development since it's not serialized. It's a dilemma for me but I also realize the show isn't for me, which means I should probably stop coming up with ideas I want to see since they don't come with preschoolers in mind, maybe I'll catch on eventually right lol.

Yeah, I can accept that the darkness means something to an extent before I realise that's a bit of a naff excuse. "But it's symbolism!!!" is a common answer to many faults in movies and the lack of budget is pretty much why the movie looks so poor.

I've been in this fandom long enough to know that any negative/questioning reaction to something is apparently an overreaction  Man, people get so worked up over some fans not mindlessly adoring everything Disney produces for this franchise. It's just so funny to me. I think I've been a fan of this franchise for so long that it just bounces off of me.

I'm just going to wait and see what November 11th brings. I'd like for my assumptions to be totally wrong.

As far as art and animation/art design changes, the lion guard at least attempts to look like the first movie, if it had a lower budget.

Looking at the recent teen titans show, the powerpuff girls reboot, the new inspector gadget show...the tangled animated series.... things could be much worse.

Yeah, I do agree that TLG more closely resembles TLK than SP does which is to be commended, really. But they wouldn't have gotten away with making it as dull in colour as they did with SP. Toddlers aren't gonna like all those browns and blacks. TLG is bright, it looks African the way the first movie does and there's no design that looks too out of place from the original movie's cast and colour scheme, aside from Bunga who is a bit of an eyesore compared to the rest of the landscape. I kinda wish he wasn't so blue but it's appealing for the kids. He looks like he'd be more suited in the IJCWTBK scene imo.

Visually, I don't remember much from SP. I can remember stuff that happens but not the visuals much. I do like the scene as soon as kovu and kiara meet in 'love will find a way' and parts of 'we are one' but that's it.

The first movie was far more visually striking.

As far as the lion guard goes, I love how beautiful the backgrounds are. The character designs are hit or miss and the animations are ok for a tv series.

What I mean by overreacting is you seem to let irrelevant things bother you no offense but you nitpick everything in the franchise but the original film sometimes for the sake of it, the outlands don't look right are you kidding me. I don't mean to be harsh but have you ever considered the reason I get on your case is because you say stuff like people have low standards for not caring about the stuff that you do, the exact thing you accuse me and others of doing?

 SO TRUE! or UNPENDI!

anyway ok first let me just say that I dont see any problem with TLK2 animation to me it looks just the same as the first, how are you seeing the difference in that? you know what? dont answer that, just dont ruin the live I have for it, and when you all say that SP had a darker side to it compared to #1, well again as I have said before that all these different versions and different affects of the TLK world, from the first film, to the Broadway musical to TImon and Pumba to now our future remake, it gives TLK fans different choices of which parts and peaces they like weather they want to string them all together or not. Now for me I am too much of a stubborn Lion king fan in the way the its like my second religion, that ever since the first episode, the amount of complaints we hear on the TLG show, and everything that may be wrong with or something doesn't make sense, well I say they dont think hard enough about it like I do, well every problem situation that I/we have had with every episode I have always found a way to make sense of it, heck if something doesn't make sense to you in this show PLEASE message me and ask me I will be more then HAPPY to make sense of it for you, and with this new one I think I have made sense with everything that is wrong. Now as someone mentioned before, the difference in the SP outlands termite mound and in the one in the new version we see here, they both have those rock walls, so yes the out lands are large enough that they have merging different texture of ecosystems one side you have the termite mounds and on the other side you have the rocky tower,(there is a Biological term for this I think its the edge effect something like that) now my belief is Ziras Pride goes back and forth between the two for whatever reasons, now if they say something that completely destroys my belief in this one well god forbid!

I wouldn't say that it looks the same. There's definitely a lack of extravagance that the first film had. The first film had a lot of brilliantly animated scenes. Partially due to a lower budget and how the original had a lot of great animators working on it the sequel had animation that was not as good.

To be fair tlk2 is one of the better animated disney dtv sequels. Compared to the hunchback 2 or the aladdin sequels etc tlk2 was close to the original.

I actually agree with you here I have never been one to be bothered by inconsistencies unless it is impossible for me to answer them. This is the reason the outsiders never bothered me true we didn't see them but that doesn't mean they didn't exist. Scar was very charming and charismatic if he could convince someone to actually listen to him he could likely very easily persuade them the state of the kingdom wasn't his fault throw in an equally charismatic queen along with the knowledge that Simba many as well of abandoned them and the outsiders aren't a stretch we didn't see them in the battle but it's possible they were there. Kovu being Scar's heir he likely saw a potentially strong lion in Kovu and chose him to ensure a more powerful heir. It always made more sense to me to just fill in inconsistencies or history on your own assuming you aren't told it rather than just calling it a plot hole. If you can think of countless different ways to answer it clearly it wasn't much of a plot hole and made more sense than originally believed. So I believe you have the right idea on this one.
