The designs are pretty good, better than I expected.

It's so hard wrapping my head around these characters being involved in this show now. It's going to take a while for me to accept it. I just can't comprehend a universe in which Bunga and Zira encounter one another and Bunga doesn't end up slaughtered. :? Zira's going to have to be toned down an immense amount, which is super disappointing as she and her sheer maliciousness is one of the few things about SP I really liked.

I wonder why they credited her with her original voice actress when it's clearly a new actress, too. Could this possibly mean that other characters' voices have been replaced?

Surprised by how on-model Zira and Vitani look, actually. Although the in-motion animation of the other Outlander lionesses is poor.

And I think it's already been answered why they were exiled, is it not? They're active worshippers of Scar. Not sure why so many people seem to have difficulty in grasping why Zira and her Pride would not be welcome in the Pridelands. Unless I'm missing something lol?

Anyway, this episode's guaranteed to cause a fuss no matter what. It'll either be really good and we'll be blown away by how well it fits with the original timeline, and it'll manage to develop a few characters even just in the smallest dose, or it'll just be a Big Miss Steak :P Looking forward to how it all pans out.

I doubt jason marsden was replaced. He talks about it from time to time on twitter.

Nah, I didn't think he would be. But in the case of Lacey Chabert, perhaps, whose voice for adult Vitani sounds really, really different to young Vitani. It's a lot more scratchy. Definitely sounds as though she went through puberty lol. I think there's a good chance she might've been recasted but who knows! It seemed like a rather lazy error on Disney's part that they misinformed us about Zira's VA.

It really is for the best for Zira to have a new voice actress. As I said, re-using dialogue can get very messy. It can work in certain instances, but this clearly wasn't one of them. I'm very much looking forward to this episode. It's the big one.

I've no problems with Zira having a new actress and it wasn't the point I was trying to make--I would much rather that they didn't re-use the dialogue because it would feel lazy and just nonsensical. The entire script would have to revolve around her re-used dialogue and it would be a terrible creative constraint.

I can't help but feel bad for this new VA though, lol. She (so far) has not been credited for her work. Does anybody even know who she is?

If they did re-use the dialogue, the script likely wouldn't have revolved around it. Zira simply wouldn't have been an active player. It could have been as simple as her saying Kovu's name in a scene.

I only speculated the possibility because Disney listed her in the press release. The press release was clearly in error.

I'm calling it now: Zira's new voice actress is Nika Futterman, well known for her work in The Clone Wars as Asajj Ventress.
