Yeah, I get what you mean. To be honest, sometimes I wonder how people who are gay/lesbian even manage to find partners at all. I mean, it's hard enough to find someone when you're straight without the extra complication of finding someone who's the same gender as you who's also interested.

Yeah the fact that a good 80-90% of women are straight is a pretty big problem when wanting to date them while also being a woman. Bisexual women may not want to settle down with a woman either, which further complicates things. You also have women who say they're bi, when they're really not, with reasons ranging from still figuring themselves out to just wanting to fit into your LGBT+ friendly circle. Then you have those who are lesbian, who you just don't find that attractive. It makes the dating pool incredibly slim.

Which makes me fairly thankful for Riley. He may have not actually been a woman as we both originally thought, but he's kind enough that our relationship works, at least.

^ Yeah, I feel like in any relationship like that you'd need to be fairly flexible, otherwise you have like zero dating pool.

Personally, I don't really care about gender that much and I feel like I'd be willing to date a woman if an opportunity like that came my way but at this point that's just such a big 'if' because 1) I feel like it's unlikely that I'd find a woman who was interested and 2) I'm just not really in the position to be thinking of a relationship right now, it's just not a good idea since my last one ended so abysmally and that's still fresh. So... yeah, it's all really hypothetical at this point. But probably very unlikely to happen anyway.

For sure though I recognize that it must be very difficult for people who are strictly lesbian/gay to find people, especially since many cultures aren't that accepting of that kind of relationship.

^I've wondered about that stuff too. Everyone's default assumption is usually "straight" unless the person conforms to well-known stereotypes associated with homosexuality. And even then, they can be incorrect as well.

^ Tbh I've given up on finding anyone at all, as dating in general is hard. It most certainly is hard enough as a bi person to find anyone (let alone as a straight or gay person, being restricted to one sex must make it nigh on impossible) then throw in having the wrong parts... I feel like I would've had to already been with someone loving, open, and accepting for anything to have worked out. Oh well. Not having anyone means no worrying about moving out.
