My brother has lost faith in Robert Kirkman as a writer--but he's not actually read any of the recent stuff and doesn't forgive any errors even if Kirkman has admitted to them. Which, y'know, is fine. If he doesn't enjoy TWD anymore, that's just how it is and that's just how it's going to be, but I don't like the way he keeps saying that Kirkman needs to "let it die already," especially considering that, as a writer myself, I can deal with and forgive the continuity errors and such and enjoy it for what it is, which was in fact the whole point. My brother argues that the plots make no sense and that it's not realistic in this and that way, except that the whole concept of dead people coming to life and eating the living isn't realistic in the first place, so why should the zombies work the way normal dead bodies do, or what-have-you anyhow? Not to mention that my brother loves Naruto and is constantly telling me that the plots in it make no sense, and obviously that is highly unrealistic. I get that everyone is going to have their things they're somewhat hypocritical about, and I know that Kirkman is not going to stop writing his story until it is done no matter what some former fans may say, but the series has really helped give me faith in myself and helped me to find something to hold onto in a world that makes no sense and idk it bothers me that someone who got me into the series in the first place wants it to die now.

It's funny that we do this to ourselves, let ourselves become attached to something that you're going to outlive by several decades. It feels like we're setting ourselves up for this. It feels horrible.

^ I find it more curious that we let ourselves become attached to people who hurt and/or leave us, tbh. Obviously not everyone does that, but a lot of people get attached to toxic people who make life tougher or people who just don't care about them or suchlike and honestly that's far less logical to me. I've never had a pet who hated me or deliberately hurt me or anything like that--pets, as long as you aren't mean or mistreating them, will typically love you for their time in your life. They don't criticize us, they don't abandon us, they don't say hurtful things to us... Pets are comforting, and they are often there for us when we need them, cuddling with us or things like that, sometimes even standing up for us or helping us with things we need or want. Pets are great in so many ways, why wouldn't we let ourselves become attached to them?

I wish my Gran would get lost. I know it sounds harsh but she's being so selfish and the amount of stress she causes is making my Dad ill. I said I'd be round later today but that doesn't stop her from phoning my Mum and moaning at her. Ffs! Leave them alone!!!

Yesterday was my brother's first day at a new job. I just found out that he quit this morning. My sister works one day a week and acts like the idea of helping our folks keep the house etc. is the most horrible thing. So I guess I have to keep my crap job, but use some of the money to help my folks, and I guess this also means I just have to suck it up and keep working even when it's hard to stand.

At least my coworkers are nice enough. If something doesn't change soon, though, I'm not going to be able to quit to do grad school, assuming I even get that figured out. If you gotta do a crap job for long periods, well, this is the one to do at least.
