My work really doesn't want me to stay, it seems. I told them I've got a bad knee and can't handle being up on my feet for longer periods. So now they're giving me longer and longer shifts?

On Saturday I'm supposed to work 9 hours and still I'm working without a break? And they want me to get up in time to be there at 7am?

Well, it's frankly no wonder that dude left us after 5 days and I've half a mind to quit now! I need money for things though... but they don't treat me right at all...

That is frankly ridiculous. 9 hours without a break would be illegal here in the UK. I hope you can get it sorted

@Rollo I've applied at many places that have been hiring, these guys are the only ones to have even given me an interview recently.

If I could just do customer service, I could apply to more places and might end up with some less horrid employers, but that hasn't worked out for me thusfar. I do look for other openings, but of course I can't be sure that wherever else I go will be better either. The crappy thing is this is my third job and it's the best one I've had.

@Niña It's not legal here either, but I've heard most employers do that kind of thing round here. If you work six hours you're supposed to get a break, but on the weekends I've been working 7.5 and 8 without one because "if it's not on the schedule, you don't technically get a break," in the words of one of the managers.

Unfortunately, no, I can't get a doctor's note because I can't afford to see a doctor and can't afford health insurance.
