I was so shocked. Poussey is one of my absolute favourites.
However, speaking truthfully...
I don't think they executed her death well at all. I didn't even know she was dying. The scene was intense, and I was very emotional when we saw Taystee wailing over her body, but the death itself was so weak. Bayley was barely applying pressure to her. If we're to assume that she was crushed to death, then that's not what I saw at all. We've seen WAY more violence than that. I know it's supposed to represent the brutality of the system, but they could've pulled off something way better than that. If Bayley had been lying completely on top of her because he was scared of Suzanne who was beating him, and we saw her losing her breath and screaming for help, then yes, that would make sense for her to die from that kind of pressure. But what we saw would've only really paralysed her from the waist down. He only had his knee in her lower back. It was one of the worst ways to kill off a character that I've seen. It didn't do justice for Poussey, imo, who is more than capable of handling that.
I usually search for spoilers...I get to anxious, if I don't know what's going to happen.
But, to avoid any further spoilers, I'm just going to say the following: I completely agree.
