Nala had been deep in sleep before Simba had decided to come trouncing in to awaken her. She yawned, shaking the sleep from her eyes and blinking heavily a few times before finally focusing on her friend that stood before her.

"Simba! I was having such a nice dream..." Nala said with another pronounced yawn.

The young cub stood up, her body shaking as she stretched and yawned once more. "I'm alright. How are you? Anything fun planned for today?" she added with a smile.

Simba saw that Nala let out such a gigantic yawn, so he patted her on the back, too see if it had all been let out. Then he went and sat down on a rock next too Nala, where he began too speak of her.

"My dad won't let me be king yet (he makes a funny face, as usual), but I can accept that! Let's go on a journey too a far off land. I'll have my stuff ready on the top of Priderock tonight. For food, we'll have too kill. For shelter, we'll have too fight. Eighter way, it'll be a hard, journey," said Simba.

He then walked towards the trees, and scraped a symbol into the tree. It was a heart, in which he put his name on.

"If you want too join me, just scratch your name into the tree, and meet me a priderock tonight," said Simba, and ran off.

Later on that night, Simba waited for Nala too show up.

Nala grinned and purred at Simba's touch as he patted her and shot him a look of thanks. Sitting down on a nearby rock, Simba began to explain to her his morning and the predicament he professed to be in. Her eyes widening at each passing word, she gave him a meaningful look.

"Really? An adventure? Just you and me?" Nala paused. "Sounds great! It'll be like starting our own Pride." She grinned.

Bouncing over to the tree, she unsheathed a claw and carved her own name into the tree, directly below Simba's. Nodding at his choice of a meeting place, she called back, "Okay, I'll see you tonight!"

Nala bounded away, intrinsically happy. She would be going on an adventure with Simba... their adventures had always been great up to now, and this would just be the next level. And if anything failed, Nala knew they could always come back to the Pride Lands, so she was in no way worried about the days ahead.

Day turned into night, and Nala quietly emerged onto the top of Pride Rock, having left without her mother or the rest of the Pride noticing. There, she found Simba, laying in wait for her.

"Hiya!" she greeted him with a small nudge to his head. "I'm ready to go. Are you?"

Simba noticed Nala comming up too him, and it scared him so much he jumped. He stepped up too her, and replied too her question.

"Yes, I'm ready too go. Get your stuff, and let's go," said Simba, and threw a leaf willed with his belongings over his tanned back. He walked down the only path he could see, that would lead somewhere where he wasn't allowed too be.

=======================================

The path was long, and divided. He and Nala had too choose between one of the ways, and they agreed on the more green path, as it looked less dangerous. Simba may of said he walked on the Wild side before, but he wasn't really serious. He was shocked when the hyenas came and attacked the two cubs.

Simba nudged Nala as she walked. Suddenly Simba felt a sharp pain run through his foot, and fell down, screaming in bloody agony.

He was bitten by a snake.

Nala shot Simba a toothy grin. "Belongings? I don't need any belongings," she said with a laugh. "Where we're going, I plan on starting over. It'll be like a real adventure! Nothing but the fur on our backs."

She followed her friend off of Pride Rock and onto a nearby path. Fleetingly, Nala thought of her family, especially her mother, and the fact that she had not told them where she was going. That said, she was almost certain that she would not have been allowed to go on this trip had she said anything. Plus, she would be back someday... right?

They came to a fork in the path. One way was far more green and inviting than the other, a bit more dusty and dirty-looking. "We'll take this one!" Nala said, pointing at the greener path, and Simba seemed to agree.

Nala had been walking alongside her friend for a while--she could not remember how long, exactly--when all of a sudden, she heard a loud yelp, which caused her to jump. When she had regained her composure, she whirled around to face Simba. He was on the ground, holding his paw, a horrified expression etched across his muzzle. Soon, Nala held the same expression--for there, slithering away, was a snake. Simba had stepped on a snake.

"Oh no, oh no, oh no..." stammered Nala, rushing forward to look at Simba's wound. "Where did it come from? Weren't you looking where you were going?!" She began to pace. "I don't know what to do. My mother never taught me how to care for snakebites. CAN you even care for snakebites? You don't die, right?"

Nala shuddered. "If you have any idea what to do, please, tell me!"

"Nala, first off don't panic, and second off, this was only a test. If this were real I would of actually died. You should be ashamed," said Simba.

Simba started too continue on the path, but became lazy and sat down. Simba sat there staring at his paws, and wondering which direction they should go in. Simba thought, and only too himself he usually though, that if they continued down the path on the right, they'd surely be lead too their death. But, if they continued down the path on the left, they would find the kingdom they were waiting for.

So Simba decided the Left path, but saw something he didn't expect. In front of him was a Giant bird-like creature, with bloody-red teeth, that were as sharp as a toothpick. It's claws were sharp and deadly looking. The creature was red and blue, and didn't look as if it wanted too be disturbed.

So, the two cubs tried to sneak past the creature, but failed, and the creature started too scream into the mist, and attack the two helpless cubs. Suddenly there was a sound of cutting, and blood fell upon the earth. Simba fell too the ground, panting.

"Nala, I'm afraid you'll have to fight him yourself!" Screamed Simba, in the highest voice he could.

So with that being said, Simba dragged himself off into the corner, in order to watch Nala fight the creature.

The earth was cold.

Nala rolled her eyes, letting her breathing slow. "Simba, I will turn back around if you do that again, I swear. Right now the only thing I'm ashamed of is coming with you. Cut it out."

Looking on curiously as Simba sat down, Nala took it as a time to rest herself, catching her breath and calming her nerves after Simba had frightened her so. She could not and would not stay mad at him, and yet... he was just so difficult sometimes.

Perking up her ears as her friend finally seemed to choose a path, she followed closely behind Simba, this time making sure he did not pull any more stupid tricks. He paused once more ahead of her, causing Nala to nearly run into her friend. But just as she was about to scold him, she glanced ahead of them, finally laying eyes on the culprit for his stopping.

The giant bird creature attacked. It took all of Nala's control to uproot herself from the spot she had been standing in, bolting to the side and out of its reach. Unfortunately, Simba was not so lucky, and the creature hit its mark, causing Nala to scream in fear, wincing as blood splattered the earth. She took a step forward, wanting to help, but if she did, the creature would be on her in a heartbeat.

Hearing Simba's distressed call, however, and noticing that the creature seemed to be setting its sights on her, Nala composed herself as quickly as she could, leaping out of the way once it had reached her once more. Seeing this as as good an opportunity as she would get, she scrambled up the back of the creature as it tried to shake her off. Nala dug her claws in deep to be sure that she would not be launched off its back, finally reaching its head.

Nala raised her paw and brought it down hard on the top of the large creature's head, hoping that it would be a sufficient hit to knock it out. Luckily, it was, as she felt it slumping to the ground. Jumping off of it before it hit the ground, Nala landed near Simba, glancing over at the creature and then at him. "I think it's out; we should move now before it wakes back up. You okay? Looks like someone needs to work on their fighting skills," said Nala with a small laugh.

Simba sat at the side of a rock, and cried out. He was bleeding heavily, and if he didn't get medical attention soon, he would die. Simba panted as Nala jumped up on the creatures back, and hit it in the head. He let out a sigh of relief when the creature hit the floor.

"Do you know what the hell that thing was?" Simba asked Nala, in one deep breath.

Simba noticed blood starting to soak Nala's pretty fur, so he covered up his wound.

======================================

Simba sure hit the ground hard. The creature pushing Simba too the side didn't hurt as much as the impact to the ground. Blood squirted everywhere as soon as he hit the ground, and he could feel his bones cracking around in his arm as he tried to walk to the sidelines.

======================================

He suffered a hard blow, and was still waiting impatiently for Nala to save him from his untimely death.

"Well... are you going to help me, or am I just going to die right here, right now?" Asked Simba in a stage of fury.
