Wow, that's a while because it's been 8 years already since the film came out. I think most of that success back then came from the story / plot itself and that it's Pixar. And not so much the characters themselves from this film because I don't think many people find robots as characters to be really interesting including myself. Then there's also the fact that it's a love thing between Wall-E and Eve also, and I think many Disney / Pixar fans complained about that too if I remember correctly.
Interesting thing relating to this film though is that it's creator Andrew Stanton is the same guy who created Finding Nemo and is bringing out the sequel to it next month. It'll be interesting for me to see because the main character of the sequel is another top favorite especially closer to the time when Finding Nemo was released back in the early 2000s.
* By the way, about this that you wrote last weekend:

True that!
I don't know why people always laugh when I tell them that. I know I joke around a lot but I'm genuinely for real, I haven't been to the cinema with someone in... Three years maybe? I honestly don't get it, who are all these people who decided that you have to go with somebody to the cinema, because I have a question for them: do you watch movies, play videogames, listen to music, watch TV or read books by yourself at home? Its the same thing except with a room full of strangers who are also doing the same thing and its also dark and deafeningly loud. I also find cinema screens a bit too big to be honest, I find it hard to keep track of everything in fast moving action sequences.
Then again I am forever single lol, its either find a way to enjoy things alone or don't enjoy anything ever. I'll skip the latter option, thanks.
I didn't mean my response as a joke at all to what you wrote. I personally just found it funny, but I understood what you were saying. But I think it's just a common thing for going to the cinema to be more of a social type thing overall.
Personally though, when it comes to something like this, it baffles me when society sees it as a joke when you laugh about something they're telling you even though they weren't making it out to be a joke at all. When I laugh, it doesn't always mean I'm taking it as a joke. It's just more of an intriguing response thing. Then again, there's also a lot of other things I personally don't understand about society (nothing against anyone on this forum). But I guess that's just me and I try not to take anything about life in this world too seriously. Kinda like Timon ))
