Kiara nodded to Kovu and entered the cave. It was very quiet. She was glad that everyone was leaving her alone for a while; she didn't think she was ready to tell them what she had dreamt of yet.
She walked over to the large rock in the center of the cave, the one that her parents and grandparents had used before her. She sat down on it but didn't feel like sleeping. Instead, thoughts started creeping into her mind.
What if that dream was true? What if her parents had been killed in a fire, or in a stampede? Then she remembered the rogue lion with the red eyes that had pushed her down the gorge. What if he had killed them? Could he be an Outlander eager for revenge? But the Outlanders and Pridelanders had joined together and become "one". Kiara thought. Who was he then? A rogue? A traitor?
Kiara shook her head to clear her thoughts. "Don't be silly," she said, trying to reassure herself, "There are no male lions for hundreds of miles. Besides, it was only a dream." Yet she still couldn't clear her head of the disturbing thoughts. She remembered that her father had once dreamt that Kovu was evil. He had been wrong. This nightmare was probably also false.
Just a dream... Kiara put her head under her paws and felt ashamed of herself.
