From a TLK fan point of view how worth is it ?

I am not a morning person, yet every Friday I get up a 8:30AM to watch a show that is decidedly NOT intended for me. As a fan I am thrilled to have something set within The Lion King Universe. I can not imagine not wanting to watch this show. I love Kion and his Friends and the fact that there are occasional appearances by Simba, Nala and other beloved Lion King characters is awesome. Also on the episode before this most recent one a character with mentioned (Although not in great detail) That Lion King fans have debated about ever since the first movie (it was also someone I had hoped the series would address) . The only thing I don't like about this show is that it is intended for a preschool audince. However that has not limited the show's writing as badly as I thought it would.

For me, it is worth it for sure I was eight when TLK was released and have been a huge fan every since. Dare I say that I love TLG even more than SP It really depends on what you're looking for. Keep in mind it's not going to be exactly the same as TLK. First of all, TLK had a much bigger budget and was a full-length film. I admit it did take some getting used to because of the different voice actors, but I think it keeps well with the TLK cannon and adds quite a bit to the TLK universe. I have enjoyed most episodes as long as they were not Bunga-centric and I think it is very deep for a show aimed at younger audiences and does not shy away from difficult topics. I have enjoyed most all of the episodes and find the characters interesting and unique. It does pay homage to TLK in many ways including some scenes, music, and character development. I have DVR and look forward to new episodes each Friday and my hubby who is 53 even likes it! My two favorite characters are Fuli and Kion. I like the expansion of what goes on in the Pridelands including traditions and how the different animals interact with one another.

My main fear was that they made an empty kids show to suck money out of the franchise, but I'm glad to hear that there are actually some interesting things in it.
