Honestly? Spirituality, while obviously unprovable, is an interesting concept to discuss. When religion becomes organised though, that's when the trouble and corruption starts. I don't mind religion nor followers who are moderate about it, but once it starts fearmongering and getting into politics and affecting people's lives negatively rather than being a set of moral guidelines for each individual that's when the trouble starts.

Exactly. When I was younger and first discovering that I was able to choose my own religious beliefs, I unfortunately decided I wouldn't just be an atheist but a beyond obnoxious person who goes out of their way to disprove God. Thankfully I've since come around and realised that there is a beauty in spirituality. I don't believe in Heaven or Hell or sinning, and I don't think it's a healthy thing to revolve your choices and your life around, but I do believe in the love that Christ teaches us. That's what he teaches--love, tolerance, consideration for others. Trying to live life being the best person you can be, not only for yourself but for others. No one is left out. That's the way it should be.

It's a shame that, for a younger person like I was, to see that the only coverage Christianity receives is the negative type. Don't get me wrong, many Christians are awful people who don't deserve to be known for their religion. All we ever hear about are horrible churches and horrible 'religious' people going out of their way to make other's lives a living hell. We very rarely hear about the nice, small Christian families with plenty of queer kids and people who support abortion and the like, just trying to live life with as much love as possible. If anything, they're often made fun of. It's a shame. There are many religious families out there who support all the things the bigger, more media-flaunted churches try to make out as the enemy.
