Where are you, exactly? I'm sorry for asking, but you've been speaking of that "army camp" for a while now and I'm curious. :kionoops: But good luck! :hug2:

I'm so relieved. My training people finally got back to me with the total cost of my course. I'm so glad things are moving again! :ha:

I wish I hadn't slept; I feel kinda bad that I couldn't explain that this was a conscious decision on my part and why.

I guess maybe I can tell her later today.

Singapore. Where every healthy male gets called up to serve the army for 2 years at 18. And after that (Completing an education such as Uni), we are being transferred to reserved units and get called up annually. (Unless you have medical problems, I think.) Every year we must go (unless for some solid reason one doesn't have to), else face punishment behind bars. It's call 'Reservist'. This time my 'annual camp holiday' lasts 10 days. -.-"

Serious? Wow. :-o I knew some countries had those policies, but I had never met someone in that situation. I personally dislike the whole "go to the army" thing, at least ones with such "drastic consequences", if one denies to. We abolished it a few years ago, after our dictatorship fell. I'm pretty sure people would have turned against the government back then, if they had refused to abolish it. :P But, have you already done those 2 years, then? Good luck, truly. :hug2:

^ I knew someone on a website who was just entering their first two years of the army in Singapore. I was amazed to find such a thing still existed with those drastic consequences attached should you not choose to conform. It still baffles me. How can this be allowed in our modern age? Is it an important thing to the culture of your country, or is it more so for the benefit of the government rather than the people who actually have to be involved in that?
