Thanks. I didn't used to sleep much back in the day either. It didn't used to be uncommon for me to stay up all night and most of the next one. Even so, last year I never woulda believed I'd be doing this.

Take a step back for a moment and use algebra.

If we call the second number n, then we know that the average of m and n is A. In other words, (m + n)/2 = A... that is the definition of an average, since there are only two numbers.

If (m + n)/2 = A, then (m + n) = 2A. Since you want to find n, all you have to do is subtract out m.

m + n = 2A -----> n = 2A - m

Does that make sense?

I personally don't like math too much but I did tutor people for algebra back in 9th grade so I have a bit of experience with that, and I've taken math up to college-level calculus, so... If you need any help, just hit me up. ^^
