Even then, the plotlines don't match. From what I can remember Utamu was the name of a giraffe who wandered into the Outlands, and the episode explained something along the lines of his kindness managing to confuse Janja to the point that he didn't eat him, I guess. I think Utamu is a totally different episode. It's possible that the Bunga storyline is a sub-plot... or another episode entirely. But hey, we'll know soon enough.
I tried to find the source of that giraffe plot. I couldn't find it. It was never on the press site or on any TV Guide. As far as I can tell, somebody made it up and posted it on a wikia.
unless they explain the 'new' canon for TLG and TLK 2 during this episode. I think it's going to make or break some fans.
That is what I am afraid of. If The Lion Guard disavows Lion King 2 the series could loose a lot of fan support.

I will be very upset :x if this turns out to be the case. However since The Lion Guard has done nothing but pleas me thus far. I have high hopes that the continuity issues between The Lion Guard and Lion King 2 will be explained in a way that I will be able to accept. Either way I know that I will not leave the series. ;)

One thing i am noticing that is really bothering me is no pride Lionesses, but Im thinking could they still show up later in the future or in next season?, just having the lion Pride family shown this short just doesn't seem right, you know what I mean? whats a pride without lionesses, surely they would have a series were they display the role and or a purpose role for educating the youngins.

I agree, I don't understand why they can't add some more adult Lionesses, (Tiifu and Zuri must have parents.). Even if they were just non-speaking background characters it would be nice too see other adult Lionesses.

Yes, I agree. We're barely seeing enough of Nala, and I wouldn't mind if new lionesses were introduced in her place (although I would be a little disappointed). Just as long as we have a bigger female cast and screen presence.

Even though I know it's pretty much impossible since so many fans have tried to crack this new canon and were left with no clear result, part of me is wondering if the creators are going to stun us all with some really original explanation. One can dream :peaceful:

I agree about the lionesses. They don't need any role at all, but all the Lion King movies showed us some of the regular pride members in background. Honestly, I would even mind if they were some copypaste backround decoration like the crocs or hippos were, because now the pride seems completely empty.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not. I just found there's one heart in the middle of Fuli's forehead.

I am all for seeing more adult Lionesses, but I do not want them to take screen time away from Nala. Maybe Nala could have a best friend in the pride, the way her mom was best friends with Sarabi. Perhaps Tiifu and or Zuri mother/mothers are Nala's Best Friends.
