^ DUDE IKR?? I found out it was called the gentle way and I was just like... judo is not gentle. Even our sensei was just like... lmao, no, that's BS. It's not. It's rough as hell.
And yeah as far as receiving ippons... omg. When you're a white belt and you don't know how to fall well, and you're being thrown by white belts who can't throw well... it's literally the worst thing ever. xD I honestly liked being thrown by green and brown and black belts better. Because then you know they're not gonna screw up and like... flip you onto your face or something.it means no worries wrote:Whites to green?? Jeez that's a hell of a skip!! What did they do LOL?
Thanks! About 2 years
Yeah, it's a big jump. Usually it takes a couple quarters for someone to go that far, I think. The greens there were definitely a lot more skillful than the new whites and such so there was a definite difference in rank. But I mean... the team I was on went to a lot of tournaments and there were a lot of dedicated people (many with previous martial arts experience, especially BJJ), so for those sorts of people it really didn't take too long and it kind of made sense to not have, like... three different ranks between white and green, I guess.
But yeah, two years for a brown... you're making good time. :o You'll have a black soon, I'm sure.
