I really don't listen to pop all that much, to be honest. When I do I'm usually in a sort of "IDC about what any of this is, just give me crappy music that has an okay sounding beat because I want background noise" kind of mood.

But seriously, I don't really care for most pop-artists. There's exceptions, though for the most part they aren't all that talented, can't even sing well half the time, don't play instruments and don't even write their own music (they just use generic uninspired words from somebody else half the time, and recycled beats).

I suppose every generation probably has its equivalent of cheap mass-produced trash, though, I guess. Like... it's not the sounds I dislike. It's just the industry and the resulting lack of effort and meaning in a lot of popular songs. As an analogy, I don't hate all modern literature trends because of Fifty Shades of Grey... even though I think that book is horribly written and many out there don't fare much better.

Most likely I sound like a music snob. I'm really not. But I mean... yeah, idk. I have to be in a certain mood to enjoy most pop songs.
