No sympathy for people losing things. Why? It's because I see these posters everywhere.

That song gave me chills. Holy crap. Been a while since something made me feel that way.

EDIT: That moment when you post awkwardly in the middle of something once again. Yaaaaaay for drama, I guess.

Yeah okay so the shop I work at still gets shoplifters, despite having CCTV, alarms and other countermeasures. Know why? Because it's the criminals fault, not the victims. Next time someone gets shot lets just say "Well that's what bullet proof vests are for and you were not wearing one so clearly it's your fault."

^I would have gotten the police involved & track them down. CCTVs are great. That's what the police is for. Sure, go ahead & shoplift. The police will catch you within a day. Also, chances of people getting shot here is near ZERO. :) Why? Because unauthorized guns are outlawed. Ban guns and be a safer nation.

So glad the police puts these everywhere! 8-) Almost every shop I see this.

It's careless to leave things around yes, but the thief is still more at fault.

It's funny. We have a lot of guns here. I live in freaking texas, probably the gun capitol of the world. A neighbor kid pointed a fake gun that looked real at me last year. His mother gave him hell and he hasn't done so since.

Okay so funny isn't the right word. Scary is the right word.

I'm at home waiting for my new laptop battery to be delivered. I'm hoping it'll arrive in the next couple of hours, so I can go for a stroll this afternoon.

Also unauthorised guns are illegal here in the UK, Flip was just using getting shot as an example of how it's not the victims fault that a crime is commited against them.

But as much as I hate the Texas obsession with guns among other negative things, I wouldn't move. There's a lot pf good here.

Southern hospitality isn't just a made up phrase, if you are friendly people will be friendly back. The cost of living is really low. You can afford a decent house with a non-fancy job. In spite of all the guns we have unless you are in a bad neighborhood you will probably never see them.

We also have the best burgers and steakhouses!

I do despise our politicians. To me rick perry is scum of the earth.

Did you just say that thieves can go ahead and steal because they will be caught anyway?
Crime is never okay, regardless of countermeasures taken or not taken and the effects on the victim do not simply go away just because the criminal is caught.
Also guns are banned here in the UK as well but there's still shootings here and plus people just use knives instead of guns. There are seven billion people out there and no matter how much you change the world, you won't be able to change all the people that live in it. Crimes will still happen.

Good talk though, dude. I need to go out for a bit now but if you want to continue the discussion then by all means PM me or I might not see your next reply :)
It's good talking to someone who may not share the same views as me but can still put their opinion across without resorting to insults and ignoring parts of a post (take note feminism thread) :P

Why am I so tired? Maybe because my sister was talking to me once she went to bed about twenty minutes after I started going to sleep, and I didn't really get proper sleep... Yeah. That's probably it.

No, it was supposed to prevent people from doing that. By raising awareness of the situation and putting those posters up, it makes people think twice before committing crimes. Crimes still exist yes, but with frequent patrols, the crime rate drops. Still, crime had increased from past 2 years despite this. (Mostly through rise of E-commerce scams) The police on its part is trying to reinforce through education.

Although my nation is small compared to your country, our laws came from your laws under the commonwealth department. Insults doesn't add much to the conversation; it makes you 'outstanding'.

As for guns, I think we can kick off another debate about it in another post :P
