Zeke was further behind, watching their backs for movement. "I heard it too. Doesn't sound good."

Great, Bakari thought to himself. "OK then, be careful, stay low and try not to make too much noise." He was desperate to try and find Mila as a light drizzle started to come down.

Zilo's pack had already spotted the two lions from far away. They were right next to them in the bushes. Zilo knew they had been heard, but he didn't know if the lions knew how close they were. Zilo made a signal. His pride all pounced on Zeke.

Bakari head commotion behind him and quickly turned to see a whole pride engulfing Zeke. "No!" he roared as he leaped into the fray trying in vain to free his new found companion.

Zeke felt something make contact with his side. He was thrown to the ground and overtaken by the hyenas that covered his body. "Bakari! Help!" Zeke yelled over the commotion as he tried to swipe the hyenas off of his chest.

The hyenas were a powerful force. They made sure that Zeke wasn't going anywhere before taking on Bakari. One hyena said "Three on this one, four on the other! Go!"

Four hyenas pounced Bakari, attempting to pin him down just like they had Zeke.

Bakari went down in a hail of fur. He tried batting away one of the hyenas with a powerful swipe of his paw but there were too many and he was tired from all of his former fights and injuries. He hit the ground with a loud thud.

[Zeke]

Zeke thrashed around ferociously under the pile of dogs but could not get up. He couldnt move under the weight of all of the hyenas and was beginning to become exhausted. He saw a larger hyena walk up to his head, lifting his paw. Zeke thrashed harder to get away and bit roared, trying to get away. The hyena brought his paw down on Zeke's head hard, knocking him out cold.

"No Zeke!" Bakari thrashed in a rage, knocking off all of the hyenas on him, but it was futile. For every hyena that he knocked away, more and more just took its place and he was soon overwhelmed being bitten and scratched from every direction until a heavy weight landed on his back and smashed him into the ground. He was soon rolled over and pinned on his back, one of the hyenas scratched his exposed belly deeply.

Zilo sat back and watched, silently laughing. "Weaklings" He said to himself.

When both Bakari and Zeke were unconscious, he appeared on the scene.

"Take them back to the cave the lioness we captured earlier is in. If they wake up on the way, knock them out again. I don't care what you have to do." He said.
