After watching the new TLG episode...



No wonder Shenzi is not in TLG because their kids are in it... Hmm. Wonders.

Ear notches definitely aren't genetic, but I do agree that all three share characteristics with Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed. Perhaps the original trio died in the fire at the end of TLK, leaving orphaned pups behind. Perhaps all of Janja's clan is comprised of orphaned pups whose parents died in the fire. If that is the case, it could lead to some pretty deep stuff should TLG touch on it. But for now, it's all speculation.

The likelier explanation is that the animators were fans of the original trio and designed characters similar to them. I do wish we'd spend some time with the other hyenas from Janja's clan. Would be nice to see what kinds of personalities the others have.

But, Janga's clan is all that is left behind of Shenzi's clan. They are the same clan after all...

I wonder why Nuka still have that frizzy kind of mane, but Kovu have a full grown mane. Did Zira gave Kovu a magical hair treatment?

^ Was there any confirmation that Janja's clan is what's left of Shenzi's? Cos if so I didn't see it. I thought it's just speculation. After all, Jasiri isn't from Janja's clan, and there's no girls at all in his clan... he struck me as a leader of rebellious teens who ran off.

^Disney wikia said so when I search up Shenzi, Banzai & Ed. I'm not even sure that Jasiri is part of any clan. For all we know, she might have been exiled or choose to leave alone. Hyenas are a fission style society. I suspect they are nearby but would rather get their males to do the work.

It's a theory that Janja and Co are all that's left of Shenzi's Clan and I like to think that Janja and the others are offspring from the original clan, but as of yet nothing has been confirmed.
