What does the documentation page and the 'favouring' of artists do? Does it kind of update you when they produce a new work?

Unfortunately, no. There is no e-mail notification here, aside from PM. As far as I know, there is no way to having that applied, since it isn't implemented into the site. It may be possible to do so, but I'm in no rank to do so. Just a standard member. You could try asking Moka about it. And see if it can be.
Favouring (favouriting?) I assume, just shows that you like their work, though it doesn't show to us who added us to our faved artists' list. Wish it did. But it doesn't. Not really an issue though. Most comment that saying they did. Wish in honest, is better. Shows they do actually like the work, and don't do it just to do it.

So no. No updates, aside from PM's.
