All signs are pointing to her being dead with no chance of her ending up alive. But my friend said she didn't like stories where one of the main characters died unless it was for a really good cause. Does that character's death warrant as a really good cause? I guess maybe, since she did protect the king and saved his life. I'll just have to keep reading to find out, I guess, because my friend won't tell me.
