My fan theory: Kion and the Hyenas before, & during TLK2

What if… Kion and the hyenas aren't in TLK2 because they all left?

All the hyenas really want to do is eat. Literally, they just want to live better lives, and the bad guys keep taking advantage of them because the hyenas just want a leader who will give them what they want, and they are desperate enough to whatever it takes.

Scar promised that they would “never go hungry again” if they stuck with him, and Janja wanted to make sure they had food before the Lion Guard formed and made things even worse for them.

Then hyenas are taken advantage of and are made to do bad things just so they can survive. They don't understand the circle of life or they dismiss it cause they are constantly led by villains and therefore, aren't in much of a position to try to respect life as they know it.

So i was thinking maybe as Kion led the Lion Guard, and learned, matured, and gained experience, he then realized this. So he then decided that the hyenas needed a leader who would take care of them and not make them do bad things. Since Kion is a leader already, he offers the hyenas a new way of life away from the Pridelands (due to the obvious grudge between the hyenas and the Pridelanders)

Now, Kion, The Lion Guard, and the hyenas are somewhere far away, where they don't have to worry, fight, OR harm the Circle of Life to survive all the time. At that point, Kion would then teach them about the circle of life.

That's actually a very feasible and interesting theory! I just kind of thought that Kion left to be mentored by some random lions but this sounds even better. I love it!

love the idea of the hyenas being given a second chance. it's true that they are redeemable characters, they're just hungry!

This fits well with both what we know of Kion, and the way TLG seems like it'll head. Because I've heard there's going to be a female hyena character who is nicer, and Kion befriends her.
