I can't believe it's 2015 and last week I saw a new Star Wars movie.

I *still* can't believe it.

Rewatched Tarzan and The Rescuers Down Under with the bf tonight. First time rewatching either in who knows how long...

Tarzan has quickly shot up to being one of my all-time favorite Disney films. Fitting, as I always love Disney films that take place in jungles, and Tarzan has a lot of parallels to both TLK and Beauty and the Beast, my two favorites. But dang, Tarzan is a lot better than I remember it. Maybe the reason I don't remember it being so good is I haven't watched it that many times, and have gone so long without watching it.

The Rescuers Down Under is definitely my preferred Rescuers film. I haven't given the first one a watch in a while, but I remember being somewhat bored by it. Rescuers Down Under takes things in a different direction by being an action epic, and the animation has a lot more beauty to it.

^ I love Tarzan, I can relate a lot to that film.

Yep, it's settled, I'm definitely going to have to write that fic. It's going to make so many people soooo butthurt... but then again, those people are already butthurt, which is in fact part of my motivation to write the fic...

Ah well.

If I could go back to any day I've already lived, I think I'd go back to when I saw Tarzan in theaters. Saw it with my late grandma. Now that was a good day <3

Youtube has just recommended "Hey There, Delilah" by the Plain White T's to me. It was "our" song... haven't listened to it--or even thought about it, for that matter--in ages. Wonder what affects it will have on me?

Also... I've noticed I still get that faint lonely feeling when people kiss in films/TV, but it's not ruining my day anymore, or even my enjoyment of the film... This is good.

Thirdly... I still love this shelf I've got put up. It holds all my CDs and knick knacks with ease.

Additionally, I am still worried about our cat, but I kind of came to terms with what's happening to him over the past few days already. Hopefully the vets will surprise us with good news in the morning.

Also... I may play some more FF9 tomorrow, and/or watch more MLP. After the MLP rewatch is done, I intend to go through Star Wars Rebels, and then check out that Clone Wars series... and loads of other things... but for now, I've got all the time in the world, and I'm gonna take it easy and do what I want when I want.

This is a long rambly post at approximately 3am. If you were ever wondering what KD's train of thought looks like... Welp, this sure is a prime example of it.

Speaking of trains of things, I ought to practice XCOM some, so that next time I play against my brother I don't get my ass handed to me so bad. Although Gaffey Gaffington is probably never going to be the stellar soldier I want him to be.

I've lost a couple cats, and my partner just lost his cat in January of this year. My condolences, that's always a rough time...

I recently rewatched several Disney films I liked as a kid, and had similar feelings. Interesting timing.

Personally, I have to agree about the Rescuers. The first one feels pretty dated and lackluster compared to the second, TBH. Whereas the sequel has really good animation and a good story that I liked as much now as I did then. I was also interested to learn that it is one of only a very few animated Disney films to not have any songs...

And regarding Tarzan... yeah, I was surprised with how little I remembered it, tbh. It was actually very good. The animation is very high-quality - believe I read a thread on here where someone said Tarzan had the best animation out of modern Disney films, and I can understand where that comes from. It's certainly comparable to TLK and the other 90's/Renaissance greats. It's also quite emotional, really. Tarzan's relationships with Kerchek and Kala were really heartfelt and compelling. The film also wasn't bogged down with tons of comic relief, which I liked... I think Clayton was a bit too obvious of a villain, but I mean, you could argue the same thing about some other people too (    sorry, I love you, Scar, but you are just so glaringly obvious lmfao).

Interestingly, there were also some films I liked as a kid that I just... didn't really like as much now (aside from the nostalgia). 101 Dalmatians II was a prime example. I think the first Rescuers movie might have been like this a little bit... it was just kinda so-so, in my opinion. Disney actually improved with the sequel for that one, I think (!).

Sorry for long post, lol, but yeah, it's always good to go back and rewatch the classics. :kionoops:
