lion guard return of the roar!!!
Again with Scar's Lion Guard, if Mzingo and Janga had heard about the rumor of Scar's misuse for his Lion Guard powers, surely Mufasa would have heard it too. Why did Mufasa still keep Scar within the pride since Scar can easily be a threat to him?
I think that Mufasa never found out it was Scar who eliminated the Lion Guard. Just as he fooled the lionesses into thinking Mufasa and Simba died on accident, Scar lied to his brother about the specific details of how his Lion Guard vanished. Mufasa trusted Scar very much in the first film. Also, it seems the truth became a legend in the hyena community considering Scar had a secret alliance with them behind Mufasa's back. Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed must have spilled the beans to the others after Scar confided in them.

Also, to gothprincesskiara, that is really interesting information. While a bit silly, the honey badger pouch as a stench defense mechanism makes the final weapon a more appropriate and plausible one for Bunga.

It was alright. I really liked some of the humor, especially some of the self parody when it came to Kiara and her selfish personality, which they capture quite well, while also giving it a humorous spin. Some of the music and dialogue was pretty cringe inducing. Bunga is easily the most annoying part of the movie, and he easily brings it down quite a few levels. I would of liked to see more of Fuli, considering she's probably the funniest character, that or the hyenas which were also quite entertaining.

Kion himself is a great character, which is good, and does give me a bit more hope towards the actual series when it comes out.

Just watched it and I am very impressed!! Loved the whole feel of it. Thought Kion was so very cute, down to the freckles on the back of his legs. Also thought that he looks like a young Mufasa. Kiara's friends added a lot to it. Above all though, I think Kion is a very strong character and I hope to see some merch of him soon! He is definitely as adorable as young Simba and Kovu.

I felt that they shoulda made it a little longer-you have to really rush the plot in 45 minutes. There were a few cringey moments and they totally ripped of the Hakuna Matata song.

HOWEVER. It was better than i thought it would be and the voices for Rafiki, Zazu and Kion were great! Darth Vader himself even makes an appearance!
I loved Tonight We Strike, it had amazing feel and visuals and it felt like taken from Nightmare Before Christmas xD Kion's lament was my least favourite of the songs, it felt dull and out of rythm. What I like the most from the music was all the background african tunes.
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who felt that way! I really adored the visuals for Tonight We Strike, and the song as a whole was really memorable to me since it just stuck out so much more than the other songs. Kion's Lament was nice, but it wasn't 'powerful' enough for me. Favourite song is still Here Comes The Lion Guard!

I gotta say that I really loved it! Kion was amazing, and to be honest, there wasn't any character I really disliked (except Zuri...).

I only have two disappointments. One, that Zazu didn't get a close up. Would have liked to see him a bit closer in his new design! Second, I really think this would have benefited from being a bit longer. Some parts felt rushed in an attempt to squeeze everything in.

@Tsuki - gothprincesskiara has uploaded it to her Facebook page, and I think at least one person uploaded it to Youtube!

An Honest Review Of The Lion Guard *SPOILERS*

Postby Shawry111 » November 24th, 2015, 12:26 am

Hello everyone,

judging by the title you probably think that I didn't like it very much. As saying "an honest review" kind of hints at that. But you will be surprised to hear that I did actually enjoy it and here's why. If you haven't watched The Lion Guard please look away now!

The Good:

The Lion Guard was consistently funny and entertaining, it went back to it's roots and told a fantastic story. The characters themselves (putting away voices, we'll talk about that later) were almost perfect, aside from a few. (once again we will get to that later) The music was pretty damn good too. Especially after I expected it to be rather bad but I would rather not get into that. It was groovy and you could really tell which songs were trying to bring back memories from the first film(s), for example Zooka Zama (I think that's how you spelt it) was more like Hakuna Matata and Zooka Zama was one of my favorites of the TLG. The other songs were great too, and I really did like all the little easter eggs from TLK and SP that got chucked in there. An example wold be the opening sequence which was fittingly the sun, and Simba sitting down to watch the sun rise. Then there was Bunga holding the fruit like Rafiki held Simba/Kiara. All of these things really helped tone the fact that it was supposed to be an all new show. And although it didn't have much appeal for adults it was entertaining and very, very well scripted. I pretty much liked everything, but the things that I didn't like. I absolutely and utterly hated, almost cringed over. (sorry if you have a different opinion and look away if you're easily offended) Nala is down right perfect, her voice, her looks. Everything. Kiara also looks great as well as Kion and they both have excellent voice acting. We don't need to go into the other characters but they were good too. I really did enjoy The Lion Guard more than I thought I would.

The Bad:

The Lion Guard made me sigh sometimes and down right annoyed me. First we will talk about the characters/acting etc. Bunga, happens to be the most irritating little thing. I know he's set out to be "the bravest" of The Lion Guard but he is truly irritating and ruined some of the more emotional bring back memory's moments like when Simba was talking to Kion about Scar being the old Lion Guard. Nothing annoyed me more for Bunga to enter and ruin the moment, then finish off with "maybe they should think about fixing the place up", down right ruining any emotion I had. Then there's Zuri who sholdn't even be in it. I don't know what they were thinking. For a lion to be a girly lion? Really? I will make the rest short and sweet. I really don't like Rob Lowe as Simba at all, his voice is too deep to be Simba, but it's not just that. I think his actual voice acting is kind of rubbish. Also, since when was Kiara so obsessed with being the queen. The whole point of the second film was because she wanted to be who she wanted. But it's the exact opposite in TLG. There are a few more things that I could probably think of.

The Verdict:

Pro's:
-Stayed true to it's roots
-Catchy songs
-Most characters were great
-Very good overall
Con's:
-Some very annoying characters
-Voice acting can be a bit off
-Some characters are not how they should be

8.6/10 - They can improve a lot but it was great overall

There are more good/bad things I could probably think of, and I will probably edit what I've got, and I will notify if I do as-well. If you liked this review please say and I would love to hear your thoughts. Let this be a place to post reviews of The Lion Guard

EDIT: I didn't like the walking animation of Simba it was very crumby, but I liked the rest of it!

ok here is my review walk through

Starting out with when Simba gets knocked by the baobab fruit, its kinda funny :ha: I am starting to warm up to Bunga cause as a honey badger, honey badgers dont care and he shows that alot he is so funny sometimes, he makes stupid rash moves before thinking about it, because honey badgers don't care, they are tough. But I dont like how he says unbungaleivable, its like an negative anti-Bunga.
Its SO cool to see a different side to Pride Rock, I have always wanted to see more of Pride Rock, I hope we get to see more Pride Rock in the series :D. and once Rafiki cleared out the Lion Guard den, I was like so that's how you clean out a Den, with a gust of wind. The Lion Guard den was so beautiful, and it even comes with water.
Im so curious as to know who those past Lion guard members were besides scar, my guess they either got killed or they ran away.
I would also say the voices are as close as they could get them and with Kiara talk about going through a major voice change.
I think I was right that the Hyenas lair was were scar sang be prepared if you noticed in the painting.
Background scenery is SPOT ON, AND BEAUTIFUL. wish I could say the same for the animation structure.
Ok yes Zuri sound too much of a drama queen and literally but as an animal lover I cant help but love her anyway, and im sure breaking a claw hurts just as much as breaking a nail, I would complain too, she is cute both Zuri and Tiffu are so dang cute and UNIQUE,
I cant get Zuka Zama out of my head, I'm still getting used to that song.
and  It cracks me up how Kiara says Bunga was Brave and stupid and Bunga respons with thanks Kiara     I find that hilarious!
Notice how there is a difference now between Outsiders and Outlanders?
I also like tonight we strike they did a good creepy job on it.
I like Ono sharp vision its cool how he can see so well.
I also like Beshte, he has a cool attitude, he is chill, strong with cool attitude.
Despite that Fulis rossets bother me her voices fits her for a cheetah.
Ok why did Kions trying to do a roar have to be a squeek it should have been more of a little kitten meow.
I have no problem with Kiara as I have said before, everyone goes through changes i there life time and Kiara had some changes in her life time, she changed drastically thoughout her life.
I dont like how there is the saying till the pridelands end, I never want them to end.
And its great on how Bunga saced Kiara cause Honey Badgers do have a smell that they release when warding of invaders or whatever. so yes they do have powerful fart
