lion guard return of the roar!!!

Just finished watching it on TV.

I thought it was alright. Great animation and some stand out moments. Some really cringe-worthy things in it too, though. Considering it's a premier, though, maybe the series itself will be better.

Awesome to see some of the classic characters make a return, and I really like Kion. I f***ing HATE Bunga, though. He alone put this movie down a few points for me. He's full of annoyance and cringe.

Just got done watching it with my parents. We thought it was good, but that some of the music didn't fit so well with the movie.

Alright so i finally managed to watch it after WAAAY too much trial and error. And yeah it was good. It wasn't spectacular, but what can you expect from a 50 minute premier? They couldn't possibly manage to fit in more than what we got in the short time provided, but for what it was, it wasn't bad. And i'm definitely looking forward to the show :)

After watching it this morning i cried. Probably because ive had next to no sleep but i seriously enjoyed this movie. I liked every aspect of it and found most of it wuite funny. One thing which annoyed me is Zuri. She is the only character i dont like, find her too whiney but she could grow on me the more we see her! Im seriously looking forward to merch now need a tiifu, kiara and kion plush!

It was okay average not horrible but not even truly good either. Janga wasn't a bad villain in fact I kind of liked him not a lot but enough however I hated the other hyenas so goofy and stupid their voices didn't help either. I liked Janga's plan it was essentially mass murder which is kind of surprising.

The music was eh nowhere near the trilogy. It's a beautiful day was pretty good, tonight we strike was very weak and I felt the painting imagery didn't really work. Zuka Zomma had a good chorus but nothing else it was also by far the most kiddy song in probably the whole franchise.

I actually liked Kion's song as I felt it was the only song that actually served the story while all the others just interrupted it what purpose was there for Zuka Zomma. Kion's lament actually furthers the plot the song itself is quite emotional. The Mufasa scene didn't seem nearly as important as it should but it was still good and as always James Earl Jones did awesome the conclusion of the song right after was pretty good.

Kiara was treated terribly nothing that defined the character of SP made it into show. Simba was rather minor Nala being minor is unfortunately nothing new but Simba he's the main character and he really did nothing in this he was quite forgettable actually. May I ask why Simba the Lion who dived into a flooding gorge and charged straight into a fire to save his daughter is doing nothing when both she and his kingdom are in danger?

I despised Bunga by far my most hated character in Lion King history. Why did he get all the screen time that couldn't of been given to Simba or Nala or even Fuli I actually liked her.

In conclusion I found it to be average but I found the first two movies to be incredible so average don't cut it.

(One final note the Lion Guard pretty much ignores Simba's Pride, Kiara has a completely different relationship with her father, she is teaching others how to hunt which definitely counteracts the second movie, Simba does not seem as paranoid and traumatized from the events of the original film.)
Return of the Roar opened the iconic shot of the sun (with the instrumental music of "Mufasa Dies" from the Legacy Collection soundtrack)
Actually, it was a new rendition of Mufasa's reoccurring theme from the original film, not the variant heard in his death cue.

I just watced it and I liked it a lot. It's probably more "childish" than the pervious TLK movies (except 1 1/2. Let's not mention that one), but it brings back the nostalgia.
I loved Tonight We Strike, it had amazing feel and visuals and it felt like taken from Nightmare Before Christmas xD Kion's lament was my least favourite of the songs, it felt dull and out of rythm. What I like the most from the music was all the background african tunes.
Kiara feels out of character comapred to Simba's Pride. She seems more bossy and arrogant but at the same time I think she's being more mature and smart which I like about her.
I think the story was a bit rushed and we didn't get to know anything about the Lion Guard members except Bunga. I just hope that TV show will focus more on character developement of the rest of Lion Guard and villains.

And the one thing I really disliked was the fart joke with Bunga. I pray he never uses that "special attack" again...
I am disappointed that the background story of Scar's Lion Guard was told in animated paintings instead of seeing new character animation of Scar. Again with Scar's Lion Guard, if Mzingo and Janga had heard about the rumor of Scar's misuse for his Lion Guard powers, surely Mufasa would have heard it too. Why did Mufasa still keep Scar within the pride since Scar can easily be a threat to him?
I had a problem with that as well, the only thing I can figure is that Mufasa must have thought Scar Learned the error of his ways when he lost his powers. Although that does not excuse the fact that Scar should have been punished for killing his Lion Guard. Unless Mufasa thought that the loss of his Powers was punishment enough. Perhaps this topic will be addressed again in a future episode, but considering the target audience. It may not be.
And there is still no explanation as to when Kion was born though we know he's younger than Kiara, but by how much? Are Kion and Kiara littermates or what?
Kiara and Kion being littermates is the only logical explanation, especially since Kion seems to be slightly bigger than Kiara (although that is just how it looks to me).
May I ask why Simba the Lion who dived into a flooding gorge and charged straight into a fire to save his daughter is doing nothing when she's in danger and no one has a plan to save her? Also why is Simba not doing anything period remember how serious he took defending his kingdom why isn't he fighting the hyenas the moment he arrived?)
Because the moment he arrived The Lion Guard had The Hyenas on the run. They just decided to let The Lion Guard handle it...apparently even when it came to rescuing Kiara. :?
I think the story was a bit rushed and we didn't get to know anything about the Lion Guard members except Bunga. I just hope that TV show will focus more on character developement of the rest of Lion Guard and villains.
I agree, the story did feel rushed another half hour would have helped with that. Like you I figure anything left unexplained could be addressed in future episodes.
And the one thing I really disliked was the fart joke with Bunga. I pray he never uses that "special attack" again...
Unfortunately because it is a non-violent attack and comical as well it could be reused.

Something I thought was significant is that Rafiki assumed that Kion would choose Lions from The Pride to be in his Lion Guard. This leads me to believe, that Simba and Kion are not the only male lions in Simba's Pride.

Regardless of who I'd like to see as Kion's love interest I don't see Tifu or Zuri being a potential love interest for Kion. Not at this point.

It seems that Tifu and Zuri are from Simba's Pride, I hope we meet their parents at some point. just to avoid a Who is the father debate.

Maybe he didn't see scar as much of a threat? Scar was fairly weak, he had to rely more on manipulation and lies to get what he wanted.

Scar was right, while Mufasa was a good king Scar had far more brainpower and Mufasa seemed to be very forgiving. Even after Scar tried to eat Zazu. You know, the royal families Majordomo? Simba had blatantly broken a rule, and nearly got him and nala killed. Five minutes after rescuing him it's almost like Mufasa was like 'eh, Simba learned his lesson'.

So i'll go with Mufasa being the 'forgiving too easily' type.
Why do we fall? So that we can learn to pick ourselves back up again.

Ok I just need to put this out there about bunga, there is a reason Bunga used a fart as a weapon, Honey Badgers have this smell they use to help them ward off invaders, and yes it is exactly what Pumbaa does but in Bungas case that what his animal does if you want proof, if you watch this episode called the Wild Kratts, it will explain more on the Honey Badgers weapon.
